Job Description

The RVP for Surgical Devices is the leader for the Surgical Devices Business Unit (SDBU) In their Region. The individual in this role is accountable for executing the go-to-market strategy and deliver profitable sales growth through the deployment of the Global Business Strategies and achieving the objectives set for their region - primarily to the Advanced Surgical Energy portfolio for Olympus. They ensure proper cross-BU collaboration with other BUs, specifically the Surgical Endoscopy business and others as appropriate.

Job Duties

  • Continuously improve sales team through strong recruitment, hiring, training, development, motivation and management.
  • Support the development and successful execution of annual territory business plans to meet and exceed region's numeric objectives.
  • Manage and positively influence each sales representative's daily activities, monthly sales forecasts, business plan updates through consistent, scheduled, field visits with Sales Team
  • Monitor All Regional/Territory Salesforce.com Activity and evaluate for accuracy and consistency. Deliver timely reporting out of SFDC to demonstrate current forecasting and activity levels that build into and support territory Business Plans.
  • Effectively build and develop clinical, supply chain, and administration KOLs within region. Seek to understand their roles, responsibilities, and goals to effectively position Olympus solutions. Utilize Olympus resources (Sr leadership, Marketing, etc.) to deepen partnerships.
  • Effectively manage regional expense budget to include participation in local trade shows / events, travel, promotion and sample expenditures.
  • Support and strengthen relationships with existing IDNs (Integrated Delivery Networks) within the region while proactively identifying and cultivating new business opportunities with additional IDNs to drive strategic growth.
  • Ensure all Company assets are carefully managed and maintained. Personally manage and cultivate strategic account and clinical relationships within region as well as support and monitor key relationships involving sales representatives and other Company personnel.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive needs assessment and business plan for each strategic account in order to deliver superior value to the customer and accelerated profitable growth for the Company.
  • Colaborates with Peers from other BUs to maximize Olympus's influence in the Region.
  • Communicate competitive activities and market opportunities to appropriate internal parties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of successful single-use medical device sales, Sales training, Clinical Sales Support and/or sales management experience.
  • Proven track record of success.
  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strategic Mindset: Must have demonstrated capability with looking beyond today to understand how to establish a strategic path to achieving the business objectives for their Region.
  • Decision Quality: Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
  • Customer Focus: As the Region Lead, consistent engagement with key customers, clear understanding of their needs and how to effectively serve them is a must for both the leader and the team.
  • Action Oriented: Leading the assigned Region and attaining the goals and objectives set for the business will require constant driving of well-planned action. Demonstrated experience in this area is critical.

  • Consistent Scheduled Field Visits with Sales Team.
  • Establishes, develops or maintains field contact with key customers, clinicians and researchers, and other decision makers in assigned accounts including travel to customer facilities and onsite support.
  • Employees must adhere to all customer vendor credentialing requirements when visiting medical facilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.


Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA strongly preferred, or equivalent sales/business experience.
  • Prior history managing IDNs preferred.

Total compensation: $155,000.00 base salary per year + eligibility for a performance-based commission plan, which includes certain non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives. Commission earnings are not guaranteed and are determined by individual sales performance in accordance with the terms of the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan.
