The Regional Vice President (RVP) of Outpatient Clinics provides strategic and operational leadership for a multi-site region of outpatient rehabilitation clinics, ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. This leader is accountable for achieving regional financial and operational goals by partnering with clinic leadership to optimize patient access, provider productivity, and overall clinic performance.The RVP fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while developing high-performing teams and strengthening relationships with physicians, health systems, employers, and community partners. Through data-driven decision-making and strategic planning, the RVP drives market growth, enhances the patient experience, and ensures compliance with organizational standards and healthcare regulations, supporting the organization's mission of delivering outstanding outpatient therapy services.

 

Operational Excellence & Standardization• Develop and execute regional operational strategies that improve patient access, clinic capacity, provider productivity, and overall performance.• Standardize workflows across assigned clinics to drive operational consistency, enhance the patient experience, and reduce unnecessary variation.• Monitor key operational metrics, including patient volume, scheduling efficiency, cancellation rates, and provider utilization, implementing action plans to optimize results.• Partner with clinic leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational scalability.

Patient Access & Care Coordination• Ensure clinic leaders deliver an exceptional patient experience from referral through discharge.• Hold regional and clinic leaders accountable for timely patient scheduling, effective referral management, and efficient care delivery.• Partner with referral sources, physician groups, and community stakeholders to strengthen relationships and improve patient access to outpatient therapy services.• Support strategies that improve patient retention, plan-of-care adherence, and successful completion of treatment programs.

Financial Performance & Resource Optimization• Drive regional financial performance by achieving revenue, EBITDA, patient visit, and productivity targets.• Hold clinic leaders accountable for managing labor expenses, staffing models, and operational costs while maintaining high-quality patient care.• Identify opportunities to improve clinic profitability through operational efficiencies and strategic growth initiatives.• Partner with finance and operational teams to develop and execute annual budgets and performance improvement plans.

Quality, Compliance & Clinical Excellence• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies.• Hold clinic leadership accountable for maintaining high standards of clinical quality, documentation compliance, and patient satisfaction.• Champion a culture of continuous improvement focused on patient outcomes, operational excellence, and service quality.• Partner with clinical leadership to support evidence-based practice standards and quality initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement• Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, health systems, employer groups, community partners, and other key stakeholders to support regional growth.• Provide strategic leadership and direction to clinic directors and operational leaders across the region.• Mentor and develop high-performing teams by fostering accountability, collaboration, and a patient-centered culture.• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources to support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership development.

Growth & Business Development• Lead regional growth initiatives, including de novo clinics, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities.• Partner with business development teams to strengthen referral partnerships and identify new market opportunities.• Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to drive patient acquisition and community engagement strategies.• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform regional growth strategies.

Technology & Data-Driven Decision Making• Leverage operational and financial dashboards to monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.• Hold clinic leaders accountable for utilizing data to drive productivity, patient access, provider capacity, and financial performance.• Support the implementation and adoption of technology solutions that improve scheduling, communication, documentation, and operational efficiency.• Utilize predictive and performance analytics to forecast patient demand, staffing needs, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Pay Range

Required Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Window-based applications. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • Must have demonstrated skill in prioritizing daily responsibilities and crises to handle a heavy workload. • Must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations• Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practices across multiple clinic locations• Excellent coaching skills to leverage operational success from leaders• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Credentials

• Clinical degree (PT, OT, PTA, or SLP)• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with increasing responsibility for multi-site management.• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams across multiple outpatient clinics, ambulatory care settings, or healthcare service lines.• Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, operational efficiency, and growth initiatives within a healthcare environment.• Proven track record of developing and leading high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.• Experience in outpatient physical therapy, rehabilitation services, sports medicine, or other ambulatory healthcare settings strongly preferred.• Experience partnering with physicians, health systems, employers, and referral sources to drive market growth and patient access preferred.• Experience overseeing clinic expansion, acquisitions, de novo operations, or integration initiatives preferred.
