The Job/What You'll Do:

The Regional Strategic Relationship Manager is a sales-driving role responsible for owning an assigned territory, expanding AssetMark's presence, and generating new business with RIA firms, branches, and advisors. The Regional Strategic Relationship Manager builds trusted relationships while actively creating opportunities to win new assets, deepen platform adoption, and grow wallet share across existing and prospective clients. This role owns territory and account plans, maintains a forward-looking pipeline, forecasts results, and delivers against sales goals.

The Regional Strategic Relationship Manager serves as a knowledgeable resource on the Adhesion platform and broader AssetMark value proposition, using consultative selling to connect advisors to solutions that support their businesses. Success requires strong sales judgment, high energy, persistence, and a genuine drive to create and close new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute a territory growth plan based on each firm's book of business, market opportunity, and potential for new relationships
  • Build relationships with RIA firms, branches, and advisors, serving as a trusted partner and knowledgeable resource on the Adhesion platform
  • Create and pursue new business opportunities by identifying decision makers, building relationships, and advancing opportunities through asset onboarding
  • Identify and close opportunities to increase wallet share through outside assets, broader platform adoption, and additional outsourcing options
  • Lead consultative conversations that promote Adhesion value-add services, including tax management, tax transition, AssetMark's Direct Indexes, manager platform additions, and OCIO+ programs
  • Maintain a high degree of familiarity with the industry, trends, and solutions that continually enhance Adhesion's platform or overall offering to advisors
  • Protect and grow the existing book of business by identifying retention risks, strengthening relationships, and staying close to client needs
  • 50% plus activity to be proactive, with 50% plus in-territory travel, in-person meetings as well as significant electronic client interface, including video calls, email campaigns, phone campaigns, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proven track record of achieving sales and business development results, including generating new business
  • Highly driven, growth-oriented, competitive, and proactive, with the urgency and persistence to create opportunities and win new business
  • Ability to quickly learn managed account and technological solutions and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Self-directed, organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize the activities that drive growth


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, Required
  • 7+ years of sales, business development, relationship management, or account management experience working with financial advisors, Preferred
  • Travel required, determined by coverage model and experience


The total compensation for this role includes base plus a competitive sales incentive plan target as detailed below.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $100,000-$120,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for a comprehensive sales incentive package and competitive benefits.
