Job Description

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Security Manager to oversee security operations across our Canada manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security strategies, managing security personnel, and ensuring the safety and security of our employees, assets, and facilities. You will be a key leader in protecting Ford's manufacturing operations, ensuring business continuity, and mitigating risks.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Security Strategy and Management:
    • Deliver the security strategy and implement industry best practices across Canada manufacturing facilities.
    • Conduct risk assessments of sites to determine the adequacy of the operational model for site integrity and recommend improvements.
    • Identify and escalate physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives.
    • Track and compile team metrics; using data to drive decision-making and security strategy.
    • Participate as a security subject matter expert for new and existing sites, providing guidance and security input during planning and implementation.
    • Manage special projects and security initiatives as assigned.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Manage a team of direct and matrix reports at multiple facilities, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
    • Resolve escalated issues with the contract security service provider, ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Emergency Response and Incident Management:
    • May perform the role of Incident Commander for fire, medical, or behavioral emergencies.
    • Respond to behavioral situations and emergencies as needed and escalate appropriately to the North American Manufacturing Operations Manager.
    • Actively participate as a member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during an escalated event.
    • Enhance emergency response capabilities by utilizing incident response tools and through the deployment of emergency response equipment for the company or local municipalities.
    • Possess a working knowledge of emergency response levels.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Develop monthly security awareness communications to be provided to employees.
    • Collaborate with People Matters, Unions, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to resolve workplace issues.
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security and fire-related matters.
    • Collaborate with appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events.
    • Manage escalated issues with plant Operating Committee Management (OCM), as needed.
    • Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies within the assigned region


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in law enforcement, military, security, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills; ability to navigate department technology platforms.
  • Available to work on all shifts (Day/Afternoon/Night), as and when required.

Preferred Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, security, or equivalent.
  • 7 years supervisory experience.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with physical security systems (e.g., access control, CCTV).
  • Experience in using data to drive strategy and decision-making.
  • Ability to multi-task, excellent problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills).
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Establish priorities under changing conditions.
    • Exhibit calm, rational behavior under stressful conditions.
    • Administer duties and responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Show initiative and leadership
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Deliver results according to the Ford OS Behaviors.


Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required
