We are seeking a team-focused and results-oriented
Regional Sales Director in our Royal Oak office to lead our experienced sales team covering Michigan, Northern Ohio, Northern Indiana. The team's focus is increasing sales of building materials including Dupont's Corian® Design surfaces (Corian® Solid Surface and Corian® Quartz) and cabinetry (Cabinetworks/Merillat and others) in both commercial and residential applications. The key customers and influencers in the market are stone and solid surface fabricators, millwork companies, builders/contractors and the architect and design community.
Key Responsibilities:Drive the region's growth strategy through sales team management and building trusted relationships with key contacts and owners of major accounts:
- Strengthen the sales team through training and mentorship, including implementing measurable action and results-based sales team goals.
- Provide day-to-day territory management as a go-to resource and problem solver for sales and other internal stakeholders (customer service, warehouse, accounting) as well as day-to-day management of the sales team.
- Travel the territory individually and with sales reps to drive strategy and build customer relationships; expect 5-8 overnights per month.
- Build and implement sales strategies and programs, including key customer and prospect identification, lead generation, and pricing initiatives.
- Work with supplier's management teams to develop business plans and coordinate activity.
- Drive CRM meeting, follow-up, and opportunity usage and development.
Requirements- Candidates must reside in Southeastern Michigan/Metro Detroit area.
- Proven leadership with 7-15 years' sales and supervisory experience, preferably in the building materials industry.
- 3+ years of commercial builder materials sales experience, including familiarity with the commercial architectural design process and driving specifications.
- Countertop and cabinet sales experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is also preferred.
- Strong relationship, organizational, presentation, and follow-up skills.
- Strong management and analytical skills with the aptitude to create metrics, analyze reports, etc.
- Self-starter with independent work ethic.
- Active listener with strong communication and persuasion abilities.
- Decisive problem solver with ability to quickly adapt.
- Strong computer/tech skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM programs (Proton, Salesforce, etc)
