Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Regional Safety Manager will partner with project leadership and field teams to mitigate risk, improve safety performance, and ensure adherence to all OSHA, MSHA (as applicable), and client-specific safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and implement company-wide safety programs across assigned regions and projects
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA and client requirements
  • Provide ongoing safety training, coaching, and mentoring to field personnel, supervisors, and project teams
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Maintain and track safety metrics (TRIR, EMR, incident rates, etc.) and report performance to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, as well as site-specific safety plans for dam construction, mining/ash remediation, and large earthmoving projects
  • Support pre-construction safety planning, including hazard assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
  • Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Partner with operations leadership to promote continuous improvement and accountability
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and client representatives as needed
  • Assist with onboarding safety orientations, toolbox talks, and site-specific training programs

Minimum Qualifications
  • OSHA 500 (Trainer Course in Occupational Safety & Health Standards - Construction)
  • OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety & Health Standards for Construction)
  • Current CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
  • 7+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil, mining, or large-scale earthmoving environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices
  • Proven experience managing safety programs across multiple job sites
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting dam construction, coal ash remediation, or mining operations
  • MSHA certification or experience working in MSHA-regulated environments
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification
  • Strong background in incident prevention and behavioral safety programs
