Full Job Description
Regional Safety Engineer

Under the direction of the Regional Safety leader, the Regional Safety Engineer provides Environmental, Health and Safety leadership and technical support across DFM Solutions' Ohio and New York operations. This position partners with site leadership to ensure consistent implementation of DFM's EHS Management System while supporting customer requirements, regulatory compliance, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide regional Environmental, Health & Safety leadership across multiple facilities.
  • Standardize EHS programs, policies, procedures, and best practices across all assigned locations.
  • Conduct scheduled site audits and compliance assessments.
  • Coach site leadership on OSHA compliance and customer safety expectations.
  • Lead accident investigations involving serious injuries, high-risk events, and environmental incidents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented across all sites.
  • Develop and deliver regional safety training programs.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for:
    • Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV)
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Confined Space Rescue
    • Lockout/Tagout
    • Fall Protection
    • Arial Lift work
  • Develop and administer regional Powered Industrial Vehicle training and certification programs.
  • Coordinate PIV Train-the-Trainer programs.
  • Develop confined space rescue procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate and oversee confined space rescue exercises and drills.
  • Ensure consistency of emergency response planning across all locations.
  • Support customer safety audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Review safety metrics and develop regional action plans to reduce injuries and improve performance.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to coach leaders and verify compliance.
  • Assist with new site launches, mobilizations, and startup safety planning.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to continuously improve safety culture across all customer locations.
  • Participate in corporate safety initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting large scale manufacturing or automotive facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards.
  • Experience developing and delivering Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV/Forklift) training programs.
  • Experience developing and administering Confined Space Entry programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with Confined Space Rescue planning and emergency response.
  • Experience leading high-risk safety programs including:
    • Lockout/Tagout
    • Fall Protection
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ASP, or CHST preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Instructor certification preferred.
  • Strong customer-facing experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to influence leaders across multiple facilities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50-70% throughout Ohio.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems.
