The Corporate Security team-part of Smithfield's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) organization-plays a critical role in protecting our people, operations, and communities. We're focused on creating a safe, secure, and resilient environment where our business can thrive.

Reporting to the Corporate Security Director, the Regional Physical Security Manager is a key leader in shaping and advancing our security strategy. In this role, you'll drive the design and execution of physical security programs across multiple locations-bringing innovative solutions, modern technologies, and best-in-class practices to life. From developing policies and leading initiatives to strengthening emergency preparedness and risk mitigation, your work will have visible impact across the organization.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who thrives on variety and problem-solving. You'll travel approximately 20% of the time to conduct assessments, support investigations, deliver training, and partner directly with site leaders to elevate security standards. Along the way, you'll help foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for security concerns and communicate issues to Smithfield's Security leadership. Provide guidance to Smithfield business partners such as Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, Medical, Manufacturing, and Distribution to ensure appropriate response to emergency or support requests.
  • Oversee Physical Security: Coordinate and implement physical security site plans and operations to ensure protection of all employees, visitors, vendors, physical plant, assets, and infrastructure and oversee processes to reduce risk and respond to incidents.
  • Manage Security Personnel: Manage contract security personnel for system operations, audits, and compliance with best practices. Develop a well-trained Security Team for risk management, threat response, and incident handling.
  • Partner Organizations: Ensure emergency support and liaison with fire, EMS, and law enforcement. Foster relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging threats.
  • Investigations: Lead incident response, threat mitigation, and assist with investigations locally or remotely. Log and manage events in the Incident Management System.
  • Training Support: Deliver training for emergency preparedness and security protocols.
  • Policies & Procedures: Implement and oversee security policies and procedures across multiple locations.
  • Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and investigations, providing detailed reports. Evaluate and improve security posture, access control, and surveillance technologies by staying current with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in security management.


WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or related field and 5+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement, military or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Leadership: 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
  • Experience leading and/or assisting in the development of physical security, emergency management or related programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing access control systems, video surveillance systems, OSINT platforms/ technologies, emergency management and other security technologies.
  • Strong knowledge or understanding of incident or crisis management, emergency response, workplace violence and incident investigation practices.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders such as Emergency First Responders, HR, EHS, Operations, Food Safety and Executive Leadership.
