Location: Based in Tysons, VA & requires frequent travel to centers throughout the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro areas

Role Overview:

The Regional Operations Director (ROD) is responsible for the operational oversight, leadership development, and business performance of a multi-center region of 5-15+ centers. This role ensures that every center within the region operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Ally's standards and values.

The Regional Operations Director serves as a strategic partner to the Regional Clinical Director, jointly supporting high-quality clinical care and strong operational systems. The ROD directly manages Senior Center Operations Managers (SCOMs), ensures regional performance targets are met, and leads cross-center initiatives that support growth, client access, staff retention, and treatment excellence.

This role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Job Requirements:
  • Must have previous multi-site leadership experience, ideally in healthcare
  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently within the assigned region, visiting each center at least once per month. Many centers may need to be visited more than once per month.
  • Must demonstrate strong alignment with Ally's mission, culture, and leadership expectations
  • Must be able to independently manage complex, multi-center operations and lead through influence cross-functionally and cross-departmentally
  • Must be willing to work occasionally on Saturdays (~6 times per year) to lead department trainings
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Core Responsibilities:

1. Regional Oversight & Center Management
  • Conduct monthly onsite visits to every center within the region. Centers with performance concerns or new leadership may require more frequent visits.
  • Evaluate operational performance, culture, staffing health, safety, and facility conditions during each visit
  • Meet with onsite clinical leadership to ensure alignment and identify cross-functional needs
  • Ensure every center meets Ally's standards for safety, client experience, and brand consistency


2. Leadership Management & Development
  • Build a high-performing team by directly mentoring and managing the SCOMs within the region. If there is no SCOM for a patch, you will directly manage Center Operations Managers (COMs)/Center Operations Managers in Training (COMiTs) within the region
  • Assist with onboarding of new operations staff members
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development for all staff and develop professional and performance improvement plans for operations staff who are not performing to standards
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 check-ins with each direct report
  • Support SCOMs in managing COMs and COMiTs, building a strong leadership pipeline for the region
  • Facilitate regional professional development sessions, including Saturday meeting topics and other leadership development content.
  • Participates in SCOM interviews


3. Regional Performance & Scorecard Accountability
  • Own the regional Weekly Scorecard and all associated operational metrics.
  • Monitor and proactively address trends in:
    • Enrollment growth
    • Client hours, including cancellations/no-show patterns
    • Staffing ratios
    • Documentation and task completion
    • Billing and note timeliness
  • Lead weekly start date and enrollment optimization conversations with SCOMs and clinical leadership
  • Prioritize cross-center initiatives that remove bottlenecks and improve consistency


4. Clinical Collaboration
  • Hold weekly alignment meetings with the Regional Clinical Director (RCD).
  • Co-manage regional weekly meetings with each clinic in your patch, ensuring strong cross-team communication
  • Partner with clinical leadership to resolve client issues, support caseload expansion, and ensure operational systems enable high-quality clinical care
  • Monitor Allied Health waitlist status across the region and coordinate with the Director of Allied Health to ensure no child waits unnecessarily


5. Escalation & Crisis Management
  • Respond to regional escalations involving staff, clients, or facilities.
  • Support SCOMs during challenging parent conversations or high-stakes staff concerns
  • Coordinate response plans during emergencies, facility disruptions, or staffing shortages
  • Ensure escalations are documented, resolved, and followed up on with action plans


6. Quality Control & Compliance
  • Ensure centers complete all required safety drills and follow correct emergency protocols
  • Monitor and support adherence to company policies, operational consistency, and facility standards
  • Conduct quality audits during center visits and follow up on required improvements
  • Validate regional readiness for audits, licensing requirements, or external reviews


7. Regional Initiatives & Strategic Growth
  • Coordinate and support new center launches within the region, including staffing plans, operational readiness, and facility setup
  • Implement corporate initiatives across all centers in the region.
  • Provide feedback to senior leadership about regional needs, risks, and opportunities
  • Help forecast growth, guide resource allocation, and identify strategic priorities for the region
  • Spearhead important strategic and special projects as needed
