Job Responsibilities - Under supervision of the regional director, the incumbent serves as the regional operations coordinator and assumes the responsibilities of institutional wardens in region 2 in their absence.
- Assists the regional director and region 2 wardens in the planning, direction, and coordination of all security activities, and operations of their respective institutions.
- Perform duties governed by broad instruction in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- The incumbent must interpret laws, policies, and operating procedures of all employees and inmates and inform public officials and other interested persons about the operations of the institutions.
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Reviews correctional efficiency and practice of operations and personnel of designated facilities.
- Ensures and assists in the conducting of institutional inspections as outlined in policy.
- Coordinate movement of inmates as required.

(803) 896-1649[email protected] Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and supervisory experience in a correctional environment or relevant military experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:- A high school diploma and ten (10) years experience in correctional, security, military, or police work, including five (5) years of supervisory experience in a correctional environment.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for the overall experience on a year for year basis (associate = 2 years, bachelor's and above = 4 years). No substitution supervisory experience.
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
