Responsibilities

  • Lead the adoption of lean practices across manufacturing sites
  • Coordinate creation and scheduling of Lean Manufacturing training materials
  • Develop local Lean Manufacturing leaders to facilitate on-site training
  • Promote active use of Lean Manufacturing tools among all staff
  • Establish a promotion system to encourage tool usage
  • Define and implement a standard FMDS system across regions
  • Conduct semiannual FMDS assessments to evaluate implementation effectiveness
  • Oversee development of the 5S process including training and audits
  • Support knowledge sharing and learning between manufacturing sites
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for NSG team members

Full Job Description
Essential Functions:
  • Lead the dissemination of lean practices and principles (DILO, Time & Motion, Spaghetti Chart, 5 Why, MM-Chart, ECRS, FMDS, 5W+1H, SMED, Mura, Value Stream Map, Golden Zone, Work Sampling)
  • Coordinate creation of all Lean Manufacturing practices/tools training materials in the LMS. Insure training schedule are communicated and completed
  • Develop LM Leaders in each site able to implement and train all tools in manufacturing sites.
  • Drive use of LM tools to become a significant portion of everyones job including some of the operators
  • Continually promote the use of LM tools in all areas by sharing and recognizing LM activities and successes
  • Define an internal promotion system to motivate the usage of tools
  • Define a FMDS system with Regional and Plant leadership that is consistent to the region. Train and support the implementation. Conduct semiannual FMDS assessments on-site on the implementation of the practices
  • Develop the leadership of FMDS to the FLM level
  • Develop and define the 5S process, including GEMBA walks agenda, training, and audit activities.
  • Support 3K OCS activities by conduction sharing activities between similar sites and activities to maximize regional OCS activities.
  • Support Workforce and Supervisors competencies as associated with the ME360 assessments
  • Development of process, quality and specialists personnel in the use of data analysis optimization.
  • Participation in the ME 360 assessment process.
  • Supervising the process of onboarding new specialists in accordance with the developed schedule.
  • Responsible for conducting workshops and training for the NSG team as needed either virtual or in person.

  • Other duties as assigned

Scope/Dimensions:
  • Responsible for support at North America Automotive facilities, Engineering support on NMI,
  • 50% Travel required with position; some International

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years previous experience in glass fabrication (Tempering, Laminating, CBG, Printing, etc)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with Symitar preferred
  • Ability to mentor and development technical resources in manufacturing sites
  • Ability to compile and analyze data and prepare reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of team members and management
  • Learning Management System Experience

Qualifications Desired:
  • Glass Manufacturing Experiance
