REGIONAL MANAGERDATE POSTED: 5/29/2026POSITION SUMMARY: The Regional Manager oversees and leads the Library's service locations and system-wide projects and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Hires, supervises, directs, coaches, trains, mentors, and manages performance of employees to organizational goals and expectations.
- Adds value as a key member of management; understands the organization, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
- Manages assigned budgets and resources effectively and efficiently; knows and understands organization's financial position.
- Manages vendors and outside service providers effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable, as required.
- Provides input, feedback, and recommendations to the Senior Leadership team regarding public service and relevant system-wide service aspects of policies and procedures.
- Manages the performance of direct reports through frequent on-site visits, ongoing monthly mission-focused discussions, effective and timely coaching, setting of annual objectives, and annual performance reviews.
- Manages, communicates, and participates in the implementation of new service initiatives, tactical objectives, and planning for deployment of resources.
- Implements Library policies and procedures. Participates in policy revision, creation, and removal of policies and procedures. Interprets Library policies to staff.
- Assesses staff capacity, service needs, and budgetary considerations to develop and recommend staffing and service patterns.
- Collaborates with the managers, staff, and support departments in planning for new facilities or renovation and repair of existing facilities.
- Addresses and resolves escalated customer issues and concerns.
- Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Supports and advances the Library's mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Knowledge of the principles and practices of library science and public administration.
- Knowledge of customer interests related to library materials, programs, and services.
- Knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques.
- Skill in project management.
- Skill in customer service.
- Ability to work independently and with coworkers in a wide variety of situations with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use all technology applicable to the essential functions of the job and commonly used by the Library.
- Lifting objects less than 25 pounds and carrying them short distances [50 feet or less] is required.
- Working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Education: Master's Degree in Library and Information Science, or the completion of the Community Leadership Certificate Program, or ten years of progressive leadership experience in our organization is required.
- Certifications or licensure: A driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Library's insurance provider are required.
- Years of relevant experience: Seven or more years is required.
- Years of experience supervising: Five or more years is required.
HOURS:40 hours per week
SALARY:$86,070.40 - $106,740.80, based on experience
