Summary:
The Regional Manager, Sleep Lab is responsible for supervision of Sleep Laboratory, any clinical staff and any contracted services assigned these areas in the provision of appropriate patient care and the documentation of said care, in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies as approved by the Medical Director and Hospital Administration. The Manager assures that qualified personnel are available, recruits, interviews, hires, monitors training, evaluates disciplines and dismisses, if necessary, and flexes staffing levels as needed. The Manager is expected to assist the VP Outpatient Services Division in administration of policy and other management functions as assigned by the VP. The Manager makes recommendations to the VP on the development of realistic annual operating and capital budgets, conserving resources and monitoring expenditures to ensure they remain within budgeted parameters. The Manager ensures safe, efficient operation of equipment, evaluates equipment and service contracts. Coordinates with the Medical Director and VP on the establishment of standards and ensures compliance. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills and function as a liaison between physicians, other departments and employees. Develops new departmental programs and procedures as technology advances and makes recommendations for action to the VP. Assists with development of outreach programs, mobile services and educational programs. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that hospital policies and corporate policies are consistently observed and for the development and implementation of appropriate departmental and outreach policies and procedures. The Manager is accountable for compliance with all pertinent JCAHO Standards, OSHA, TOSHA, and Infectious Disease and with other local, state, and federal regulations. The Manager is required to participate in the hospital's Continuous Quality Improvement programs and to cooperate with interdepartmental reengineering projects to improve quality of service and reduce cost. The Manager should establish and monitor Quality/Risk Management in all outreach sites. The Manager will ensure that departmental facilities and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained in optimum operating condition. The Manager is expected to set an example for all employees of commitment and loyalty to Ballad Health by openly supporting and participating in hospital projects and events. The incumbent is expected to lend technical assistance and act in a consultant role to affiliate healthcare providers. The Manager is accountable for maintaining technical expertise and for development of leadership skills through ongoing education. The Manager must be self-motivated and serve as a strong team leader and coach. The position must be able to function in the capacity of Clinical Supervisor. The Manager should be on call to the department on a continuous basis in the event of emergency or hospital disaster. The Manager will demonstrate competency in the care of patients from neonatal, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
The Regional Sleep Manager is expected to comply with Management philosophy, which includes being accountable to the customer, fiscally responsible, and focused on improving performance outcomes. An important expectation is to support the successful operation of the Strategic Service Units. The Manager will dedicate operations resources to developing the organization's intellectual capital, empowering team members to assume responsibility and accountability within the scope of their expertise and acting as a facilitator to the self-directed work groups that develop within the department. The Manager is also expected to develop and promote collegiality with SSU Directors and other Enabler Department Directors to assure equitable sharing of resources, smooth work flow, understanding and support of one another's needs, and harmonious and productive relationships throughout the organization.
Requirements:
Must be a Registered Polysomnographer or Respiratory Therapist or have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare or related field, including two years in a supervisory role.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active Registered Polysomnography or Certified Respiratory Therapist licensure in appropriate stateCPR required
