REGIONAL MANAGER OF PATIENT ACCESS

OVER 50% OF TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR POSITION

The Regional Manager of Patient Access Services demonstrates Decision Quality (17), Managing Work (35), and has a knowledge of Total Work Systems (63). The Regional Manager must possess Interpersonal Savvy (31), good Manager (Boss) Relationships (4), and be effective in Directing Others (20). The Regional Manager must possess and demonstrate Analytical Skills, be a Visionary/Strategist, have good Project Management skills, show ownership, and be Proactive.

The Regional Manager of Patient Access is responsible for overall functioning of assigned areas. This position is responsible for timely collection of demographics, financial, and regulatory information for the hospital's financial and compliance risk related to the delivery of patient care. The Manager oversees all aspects of registration to promote complete, accurate, and timely hospital billing-maximizing collectible and minimizing uncollectible accounts, with detailed review related to regulatory agencies, third party payors, and timely course correction when there are claim denials, increased AR days and bad debt accounts. These functions include overseeing the coordination between physician offices, ancillary departments and patients as related to the registration processes.

This position is also responsible for the statistical data generation, monitoring of departmental budget, and policy and procedure manual preparations, produces reports and provides recommendations concerning improvement in access management to ensure patient information is complete and accurate for billing and clinical purposes.

Functions of the Regional Patient Access Manager includes maintaining high quality, productivity and cash collections in registering outpatients, emergency department patients, surgery patients, and direct admits.

The Regional Manager position supports non-revenue cycle departments who complete registrations by sharing training goals, establishing registration standards, and Epic upgrade support.

The Regional Manager ensures appropriate staffing levels, administers competency assessments, staff orientations, ongoing education programs, and development courses in all areas of responsibility. The Manager provides feedback to staff, both within and outside of formal review processes and ensures appropriate levels of understanding, awareness, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.

The Manager collaborates with clinical partners, business office leaders, medical records, and information systems to enhance all communications and information-gathering activities. The Regional Patient Access Manager works closely with leadership across departments to provide a framework of effective communication and addresses patient complaints in a timely and courteous manner.

The Regional Patient Access Manager will ensure the Site Supervisors search out and implement efficiencies, economies, and best practices for appropriate team development.
The Regional Manager must demonstrate being proactive in problem solving. Must be able to relate and communicate with multiple levels of people possessing different skill sets including subordinate staff, clinicians, patients, and physicians. Must be flexible with work hours to meet demands of a 24/7 operation
