OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Regional Manager to provide leadership and oversight across assigned MedHealth correctional healthcare facilities throughout Oregon and the Northwest. This leadership role is responsible for supporting facility operations, ensuring high-quality and compliant patient care, and providing guidance to Health Services Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and clinical staff. As a key member of the MedHealth team, the Regional Manager will partner with facility and corporate leadership to promote strong clinical outcomes, operational excellence, and effective healthcare services across the region.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Director of Operations with operations to ensure consistent quality patient care is delivered at each assigned site
- Develops a strong professional and trusting relationships with each assigned client and serves as the liaison between the client's administration and the MedHealth corporate office.
- Monitors and evaluations of assigned facility clinical operational procedures and programs. Develops and implements corrective actions to ensure quality patient care, operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness when areas for improvement are identified.
- Assist the Director of Operations in the preparation of new contract startups, including attending startups for the duration of the transition period.
- Attend corporate meetings, teams calls, and monthly staff meetings for HSAs as needed.
- Assist assigned facility leadership with staffing and recruitment of medical personnel and assists clinic leadership and credentialing department to ensure compliance with licensure and credentialing requirements.
- Assist Director of Operations in providing leadership in maintaining compliance with company and facility policies and procedures, including Human Resource policies, and submits timely and accurate reports, invoices, and budgets.
- Evaluates existing policies, procedures, and practices and, as directed by the Director of Operations, direct changes in nursing practices to meet acceptable standards of nursing care as defined by accreditation and certification agencies in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Maintains communication with facility administration, medical staff, and corporate personnel to ensure all facility needs are met efficiently and quickly.
- Attends seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on industry trends.
- When necessary, assists in business development activities such as attending seminars, providing staffing matrices, and writing clinical responses to proposals.
- Participates in the preparations for scheduled facility audits.
- Addresses inmate/family grievances and legal matters when escalated beyond the site HSA level.
- Instills a sense of accountability among team members by modeling correct oversight of individual and organization performance standards
- Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates the work of medical staff consisting of professional and paraprofessional staff members in conjunction with the site HSA.
- Works with the Director of Operations and Director of Training and Compliance to manage the development, implementation and evaluation of a nursing education, orientation and in-service program for all levels of nursing staff; coordinate a student training program with affiliated schools or universities.
- Works with the onsite clinic Health Services Administrator to prepare annual budgetary recommendations and manage the monthly review of payroll, supplies, and offsite expenditures.
- Provides leadership and direction to Health Services Administrators and Directors of Nursing at assigned clinics.
- Assist the Director of Operations in developing and implementing strategies that will maximize the teamwork among the medical staff and security staff at each site.
- Conducts site visits to provide supervision, complete record reviews, and collect data and information to determine program effectiveness and compliance.
- Provides annual staff training and development programs as well as technical advice; interprets complex NCCHC policy; provides procedural steps to assigned clinic and facility staff to enhance their skills in resolving problems related to these areas.
- Fills in for assigned clinic leadership (HSA) and/or staff positions as needed. NOTE: this means there will be times when you have to work the floor to fill vacant shifts.
- Follows all MedHealth and clinic facility policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Must maintain an active, unrestricted Nurse License in Oregon and other states, as needed
- Must residence in western US, preferably Oregon
- Must submit to a background check
- Must maintain all certifications, education requirements, licensing, etc. for this position, including becoming CCHP certified (we will pay those costs)
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screen
- Must present a negative PPD or Quantiferon test yearly, OR a negative CXR every 5 yrs at own expense
- Must maintain BLS through American Red Cross or American Heart Association at own expense. Online only course is not acceptable
- Must adhere to all facility and clinic procedures as well as the policies and procedures listed in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintains confidentiality, dignity and security of health records and protected health information in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Must work within the scope of practice defined by the state for the assigned position. At no time should an employee work outside his/her scope of practice. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Shift Details:- Significant travel throughout Oregon and possibly other northwest states.
