The Opportunity: HR Leader with a Purpose

Are you a proactive HR professional who thrives on building strong relationships, coaching leaders, and keeping operations running smoothly? We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on Regional HR Business Partner to support our growing divisions across coastal North and South Carolina!

In this dynamic role, you won't be trapped behind a desk all day. You will be the trusted strategic partner to our Division Managers, supervisors, and front-line operational teams-driving employee engagement, managing talent, navigating employee relations, and fostering a positive, safety-first workplace culture.

What You'll Do (Your Day-to-Day Impact)
  • Be the Strategic Partner: Collaborate with corporate, area, and division leadership to design and execute HR initiatives aligned with local business goals and overarching company growth.
  • Empower & Coach: Serve as an approachable advisor, mediator, and mentor for managers and employees alike-guiding teams on performance management, career development, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • Cultivate Culture & Engagement: Drive employee engagement initiatives, champion our Safe For Life culture, and lead localized community efforts through GFL's Full Circle Project.
  • Field Presence & Relationship Building: Travel to branch locations across the assigned region to check in on teams, understand frontline challenges, and resolve workplace matters in real time.
  • Talent & Employee Relations Expert: Manage end-to-end employee relations investigations, ensure compliance with federal/state employment laws, and advise leadership on fair employment practices, retention strategies, and performance management.
  • Training & Onboarding champion: Deliver interactive training programs and onboarding experiences that set new employees up for long-term success.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive HR Generalist/BP experience, ideally supporting field operations, logistics, industrial, or multi-site environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or PHR / SPHR certification is a strong plus!).
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with everyone-from frontline drivers and technicians to executive leadership.
  • Business Acumen & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of employment laws, OSHA/safety standards, compensation basics, and employee relations best practices.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with modern HRIS platforms (Workday experience is a major bonus!) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel routinely between local branch locations in coastal NC and SC.
