Full Job Description
The Regional Healthcare Security Services Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of security operations across multiple healthcare facilities within a designated region. This includes managing security personnel, developing and implementing security programs, coordinating with external agencies, and ensuring the overall safety of patients, staff, and visitors. The role demands strong leadership skills, expertise in risk management, and the ability to respond effectively to any security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
Security Operations Oversight:
  • Lead, direct, and manage all security functions across multiple healthcare facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure facility compliance with safety protocols and standards.
  • Ensure that security systems (CCTV, alarm systems, access control) are operational and continuously improved.

Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and manage security operations across healthcare facilities in the region, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare locations.
  • Supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties.
Training & Development:
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for security staff to enhance performance
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of security practices, healthcare regulations, and emergency response techniques.
Incident Management & Response:
  • Respond to and manage security incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns, coordinating with internal departments and local law enforcement as necessary.
  • Oversee investigations related to security breaches, workplace violence, theft, or other incidents, ensuring that proper documentation and reports are generated.
  • Ensure that incident reports are accurately maintained and reviewed for continuous improvement.
Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Identify security risks and develop strategies to address vulnerabilities and improve safety.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as healthcare industry standards such as HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that security measures are aligned with organizational goals and patient care objectives.
  • Regularly update and test emergency preparedness and disaster recovery plans.
Coordination & Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all security-related matters, fostering communication with internal departments, law enforcement, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local emergency response teams, law enforcement, and fire departments for mutual support during crises.
  • Collaborate with healthcare operations leadership to integrate security measures into daily operations without disrupting patient care.
Security Technology & Systems Management:
  • Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of all security-related technology, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Monitor the performance and integrity of security systems and implement upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and enhance security protocols.
Emergency Response and Safety Protocols:
  • Manage the development and execution of emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and lockdown protocols.
  • Conduct regular security and emergency preparedness drills to ensure staff readiness.
  • Lead crisis management initiatives and direct security teams during critical situations.

Qualifications:
  • Education bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field or equivalent years of experience. Master's degree or CPP, PSP is preferred
  • Experience: 5 years minimum of experience in security management, with 3 years minimum in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • 3 yrs of healthcare security experience are required.
    • Proven ability to manage security operations across multiple locations or regions.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and crisis management in a healthcare environment.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle high-stress situations with a calm and strategic approach.
