Overview
The Regional Domestic Operations Manager oversees operations within a designated region. They will work closely with the Regional Director of Operations to develop and execute strategies that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a focus on continuous improvement across domestic operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, and budget performance. Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Operational Management: • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Operations to set regional and local goals aligned with the overall business plan. • Develop and execute policies, procedures, and programs to meet organizational needs and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory laws, and guidelines. • Act in a support function for the fiscal performance of operations, focusing on profitability and growth goals. • Support in vetting of linehaul providers to continually determine the best options and reward those that meet or exceed expectations (in service and cost) with primary provider status. • Regular monitoring of key delivery agents outside the AIT Station cartage network. Coach and replace with better providers as necessary. Also work with Company Stations and their Cartage Operations to eliminate service issues. • Support service improvement and enhancements for key aspect of operational coverage, including warehouse processes • Identify automation opportunities and engage key stakeholders for development • Assist in costing compilation to support the development of large customer bid/opportunities • Support review of regional P&L performance and establish short-term focus area to address shortfalls. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within key service areas to ensure operational excellence and service profit growth. • Act as interim station manager when we encounter openings
  • Business Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Support business development, sales, marketing, and new account development to drive revenue generation for domestic services. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, customer service, IT, etc.) to streamline operations and ensure efficient service delivery. • Assist with onboarding new accounts and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Resource Planning & Team Leadership: • Plan and allocate resources effectively (staffing, training, equipment, systems) to ensure contractual compliance and delivery of high-quality services. • Provide leadership and support to station teams, addressing issues related to operations, communication, revenue enhancement, and process execution. • Support in the development of operations staff, ensuring proper training and performance management.
  • Operational Excellence & Performance Monitoring: • Manage and optimize operational systems and provide recommendations for process improvements. • Support development and deployment of reporting and monitoring tools to ensure proper financial and transactional management of operational transactions. • Ensure that performance metrics and KPIs are achieved within the regional operations.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: • Prepare ad-hoc reports on internal KPIs, agent performance, and the status of operational excellence. • Provide ad-hoc updates on operational performance and ensure proper tools and metrics are in place to meet growth, service, and profitability goals.
