Position Overview

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reporting to the VP, Supportive Housing, the Regional Director will provide leadership, management and direction to the Program Directors in their management of residential settings and/or other supportive housing programs. With your strong leadership abilities, you will recognize and augment the diverse strengths of staff. You will provide support and tools to the people we serve to move them beyond diagnoses and stigma. You will be responsible for providing the vision and strategic direction to elevate service delivery and ensure quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading multiple supportive housing programs across New York City and will perform with grace and sensitivity while exemplifying social and emotional intelligence. This person will employ a data-informed approach and have a demonstrated commitment to person-centered care for people who have a broad range of challenges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIREMENTS
  • Provide programmatic leadership; Develop clear, measurable program goals, objectives and workplans that support quality services, safety and positive outcomes for the people we serve.
  • Lead the housing division in providing quality, innovative services. Adapt and improve service models and work with S:US staff to identify, develop and execute new models of care.
  • Promote person-centered care that supports dignity; provide vision and direction that facilitates opportunity for all.
  • Provide clinical, operational, and fiscal leadership to a portfolio of programs.
  • Position agency to respond to opportunities for growth.
  • Align and update position descriptions and performance plans.
  • Applies a broad knowledge of the Behavioral health regulatory world and programs in the management and coaching of Program Directors
  • Work assignments are varied and somewhat difficult in character and require depth and expertise to accomplish
  • Problem-solves issues that are complex, unique in nature and not always reliant on past precedence
  • Ensures that each residence or program is meeting regulatory requirements, modeling best practices and integrating new tools and initiatives into its work model
  • Manages and coaches Program Directors to develop their leadership skills and customizes development plans for each individual to optimize consistent competencies throughout their scope of accountability
  • Distinguishes the level of decision-making that Program Directors are to make and empowers them to do so without micro-managing their activities
  • Interfaces with a diverse group of internal and external sources to resolve problems, influence decisions and provide consultative services
  • Works under limited supervision of the Vice President requiring higher planning skills and project management skills
  • Manages special projects and all other assignments as determined by the Vice President
  • Represents the agency and programs and in a professional manner to funders, consumers, potential consumers, referring agencies, network members, etc.
  • Remains current and updated on new regulations, policies, industry trends, and best practices

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master's Degree in Human Services or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of managerial experience in a professional function
  • Leadership capability to manage and coach Program Directors
  • Ability to contribute to and implement work systems for the efficient running of an operation
  • Ability to provide direction and focus on the implementation of new initiatives
