The Regional Director Supply Chain Procedural Inventory & Technology provides strategic leadership and operational governance for procedural inventory management, distribution, and enabling technologies across one or more sites. This role is accountable for standardizing procedural governance, inventory practices, optimizing working capital, improving inventory readiness, and strengthening clinical support through data-driven processes and technology adoption. The Director partners with clinical, operational, finance, and supply chain stakeholders to ensure supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and effective recall/traceability execution. This leader develops and manages a high-performing team and drives continuous improvement through analytics, forecasting, and performance management.

Summary
The Regional Director, Supply Chain Procedural Inventory & Technology provides strategic leadership and operational governance for procedural inventory management, distribution, and enabling technologies across one or more sites. This role is accountable for standardizing procedural governance, inventory practices, optimizing working capital, improving inventory readiness, and strengthening clinical support through data-driven processes and technology adoption. The Director partners with clinical, operational, finance, and supply chain stakeholders to ensure supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and effective recall/traceability execution. This leader develops and manages a high-performing team and drives continuous improvement through analytics, forecasting, and performance management.

Job Duties

  • Establishes governance, policies, and standard operating procedures for procedural inventory management, storage, distribution, and replenishment to ensure consistent performance and service levels.
  • Leads inventory optimization and working capital initiatives (e.g., PAR strategy, segmentation, utilization-based replenishment, turns improvement, expiry reduction, and excess/obsolete mitigation) to improve availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Ensures procedural inventory readiness by directing demand planning, forecasting, shortage mitigation, and escalation processes to support uninterrupted patient care.
  • Partners with clinical leaders, perioperative/procedural stakeholders, and value analysis to drive standardization, utilization management, and evidence-based inventory decisions.
  • Directs evaluation, implementation, and adoption of inventory technologies (e.g., ERP, item master governance, point-of-use systems, barcode/RFID, automation, analytics dashboards) to improve accuracy, traceability, and productivity.
  • Oversees compliance and risk management for inventory practices, including product traceability, recall execution, infection prevention requirements, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Leads performance management across sites by defining KPIs, conducting operational reviews, and driving continuous improvement using root-cause analysis and Lean/process improvement methods.
  • Responsible for vendor and inventory program management. Ensures inventory practices comply with Joint Commission, CMS, FDA, state regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, product traceability requirements, and recall management processes.
  • Develops and leads a high-performing multi-site team through coaching, talent development, workforce planning, and change management to sustain operational excellence.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 7 years to 10 years of progressive experience in inventory management, distribution/logistics, and supply chain technology within a complex healthcare or similarly regulated environment. Mastery-level knowledge of multi-site inventory operations and supply chain logistics
  • 7 years of prior leadership experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in procedural inventory models (owned, consignment, loaner, VMI) and the controls required to ensure readiness, traceability, and financial stewardship.
  • Advanced analytical capability to interpret utilization, demand, and inventory data and translate insights into standardized processes, KPI performance, and measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency with ERP and inventory/point-of-use technologies, including item master governance, data integrity controls, and technology adoption/change management.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills to influence clinical, operational, finance, and vendor partners and drive standardization and compliance across multiple sites.
  • Expert problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, including root-cause analysis, process mapping, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex operational and financial concepts to executive and frontline audiences.
