Full Job Description
We are seeking a Regional Director for Southern and Eastern Africa to join our International Projects team in Boone, North Carolina . Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Regional Director, Southern and Eastern Africa , you will have the opportunity to:
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure the successful implementation of projects from proposal to completion. Review and approve all periodic field financial and programmatic reporting for submission to Projects senior leadership.
  • Represent the Projects department throughout International Headquarters and liaise with external contacts as directed by senior management. Communicate with funding recipients in order to ensure timely reports on funds received.
  • Provide leadership direction and hold field personnel accountable to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Promote and ensure field offices maintain a culture of integrity and transparency in all operations, including safeguarding and the preventing fraud, bribery, and corruption.
  • Identify, develop, and monitor partners who respond to critical needs in the region.
  • Serve on the Incident Management Team and are available to deploy to Disaster Assistance Response Team in disaster situations within the region and globally.
  • Travel to field sites as needed for temporary assigned field responsibility, project review and assessment, assurance of policy execution, inventory confirmation, or other work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Directly manage three to five subordinates who supervise an average of 150 employees in the international field offices, and directly supervise one to five non-supervisory employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Samaritan's Purse policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems .
  • B achelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies are strongly preferred.
