POSITION SUMMARY:The Regional Director of Program Excellence is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, engaging, and outcomes-driven youth development experiences across Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF).
This position provides leadership for program excellence systems and an organizational portfolio of program areas, including social enterprise initiatives and grant-funded programs, aligning program strategy with organizational goals, financial sustainability, and positive youth outcomes.
Working in close partnership with Regional Directors of Club Operations, this position provides program excellence leadership across BGCCF's traditional Club sites by developing and maintaining the systems, standards, tools, training, coaching, and support structures necessary to promote program consistency, strengthen staff capacity, and enhance member experiences.
The Regional Director of Program Excellence oversees program-focused staff and key organizational initiatives, including teen services, workforce readiness, academic success, youth arts, social-emotional programming, and designated revenue-generating programs such as print shop operations, as well as large grant-funded initiatives.
This role serves as a key leader in fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, innovation, trauma-informed practice, and positive youth development, while also ensuring strong program performance, sustainability, and strategic alignment across all assigned areas.
SUCCESS PROFILE:The Regional Director of Program Excellence exercises independent judgment in evaluating and implementing consistent program quality across Club locations. Drives improvement in youth outcomes, program quality, engagement metrics, and assigned program performance through effective implementation, coaching, evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will build staff readiness, performance, and retention within programming teams while fostering effective cross-functional alignment and program integration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Excellence, Quality & Continuous Improvement- Establish and maintain organizational standards, frameworks, and implementation expectations that promote consistent, high-quality youth development experiences across Club locations
- Lead the organization's program quality assessment process, including observations, quality reviews, data analysis, reporting, action planning, and continuous improvement efforts
- Monitor program implementation, quality, and member experiences using assessments, stakeholder feedback, and performance data, utilizing findings to strengthen program effectiveness and consistency
- Identify gaps in program quality or implementation and work through Regional Directors of Club Operations and Club leadership to drive adoption of standards and corrective action
- Promote practices that foster belonging, emotional safety, youth voice, engagement, and trauma-informed approaches
- Establish clear accountability mechanisms for program implementation in a matrixed environment where direct supervision may not exist
- Stay informed on emerging trends and incorporate best practices into organizational systems
Program Systems, Training & Staff Readiness- Develop and oversee systems, tools, resources, and processes that support effective program planning, implementation, evaluation, and accountability
- Lead design and delivery of program-specific training, coaching, and professional development
- Partner with HR, Regional Directors of Club Operations, and Club leadership to support onboarding and ongoing staff development
- Identify organizational strengths and gaps and implement strategies to strengthen program delivery
- Lead change management efforts related to program implementation, new initiatives, and organizational priorities
- Identify, document, and scale best practices across Club locations, creating standardized resources, tools, and implementation strategies that improve consistency and organizational performance
Youth Outcomes, Evaluation & Stakeholder Voice- Partner with leadership to monitor youth outcomes, participation, retention, and performance indicators, program effectiveness and trends
- Lead or support the administration, analysis, and utilization of NYOI and other assessment tools, translating findings into actionable recommendations
- Develop systems to gather, analyze, and utilize youth, caregiver, staff, and stakeholder feedback to strengthen program quality, engagement, retention, and member experience
- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and analyses that support organizational decision-making and continuous improvement efforts
Program Leadership, Grants & Strategic Initiatives- Provide leadership and supervision to Program Administrators and other assigned staff
- Provide strategic direction and performance oversight for assigned program areas, including teen services, academic success, youth arts, social-emotional programming, social enterprise programs (print shop), and grant-funded initiatives
- Ensure each program operates with defined outcomes, strong implementation models, and sustainable practices
- Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures for each program area to support and drive excellence
- Oversee grant-funded programs and strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance, reporting, and alignment with intended outcomes
- Partner with Grants and Advancement on funding strategy, reporting, and stewardship
- Identify opportunities to grow, scale, replicate, or sunset programs based on impact, demand, and sustainability
Financial Oversight & Program Sustainability- Develop and manage program budgets for assigned areas, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals
- Monitor financial performance of program areas, including revenue-generating initiatives, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and sustainability
- Partner with Finance and Operations to optimize cost structures, staffing models, and revenue strategies
- Apply sound business principles to social enterprise programs to maximize both mission impact and financial performance
Organizational Partnership & Collaboration & Influence Leadership- Serve as a strategic partner to Regional Directors of Club Operations to strengthen program implementation and member experience while always representing BGCCF internally and externally appropriately
- Lead through influence across club and organizational leadership, ensuring alignment with program standards and expectations
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure program initiatives are implemented and sustained
- Collaborate across departments to align program efforts with organizational priorities
Program Strategy & Integration - Lead the development and evolution of organizational program strategies across key focus areas
- Ensure alignment and integration across program areas to create cohesive member experiences
- Identify opportunities to connect program offerings to increase engagement, retention, and outcomes
- Assess community needs and trends to ensure programs remain relevant and impactful
Leadership & Organizational Execution: - Leads assigned initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes
- Establishes clear expectations, performance measures, and accountability systems for assigned program areas and initiatives
- Drives execution through influence, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed environment
- Monitors progress toward organizational priorities, identifies barriers, and implements corrective actions to achieve desired outcomes
- Demonstrates ownership, sound judgment, and proactive communication while balancing multiple strategic priorities
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in education, Youth Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in youth development, education, nonprofit programming, quality, or related fields.
- Experience leading multiple program areas, organizational initiatives, or program portfolios, including budget management and financial oversight; experience with social enterprise models or revenue-generating programs preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience with Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming, youth outcomes measurement, and quality improvement frameworks preferred.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs and reporting required.
- Strong understanding of positive youth development principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and youth engagement strategies.
- Experience utilizing data, evaluation tools, and performance metrics to drive improvement.
- Ability to translate organizational priorities into effective implementation strategies.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, project management, and organizational skills;.
- Weikert Methods or BGCA Tier 2 trainer a plus.
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
