Regional Director of Operations - Hospitality

We are seeking an experienced Regional Director of Operations to oversee a portfolio of hotels while partnering with General Managers to maximize financial performance, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and operational excellence.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished hospitality leader with extensive multi-property experience who is passionate about developing teams, improving hotel performance, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

Position Overview

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for a regional portfolio of hotels. This executive-level role partners closely with General Managers and corporate leadership to ensure every hotel achieves its financial objectives while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction and brand standards.

The successful candidate will be a highly visible leader who enjoys mentoring hotel teams, solving operational challenges, and driving continuous improvement throughout the portfolio.

What You'll Do

Operational Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to General Managers across multiple hotel properties.
  • Ensure operational consistency, service excellence, and compliance with brand standards.
  • Conduct regular hotel visits to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop action plans to improve guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead by example while promoting Atira's culture of Authentic Hospitality.

Financial Leadership
  • Drive hotel profitability through strong financial oversight and operational discipline.
  • Review and analyze P&Ls, labor costs, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Partner with Revenue Management and Sales to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and market share.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining exceptional guest service.

People Leadership
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop General Managers and hotel leadership teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development throughout the region.
  • Promote associate engagement and professional growth.

Guest Experience & Brand Excellence
  • Ensure hotels consistently exceed guest satisfaction goals.
  • Maintain compliance with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, and independent brand standards.
  • Review quality assurance audits and guest feedback.
  • Implement service recovery and operational improvement initiatives.

Strategic Leadership
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance.
  • Support hotel transitions, acquisitions, renovations, and new property openings.
  • Provide operational insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Assist in developing long-term growth strategies for the organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive hotel operations leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years overseeing multiple hotels as a Regional Director, Area Director, Area General Manager, or similar leadership position preferred.
  • Strong experience managing branded hotels with one or more of the following:
    • Marriott
    • Hilton
    • Hyatt
    • IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group)
  • Experience overseeing independent hotels is a plus.
  • Proven success improving financial performance, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and associate engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financials including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and profit optimization.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout assigned markets.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience managing multiple branded hotels across Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG portfolios are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience working with ownership groups and third-party hotel management companies is highly desirable.
