Full Job Description
The Regional Director of Donor & Board Advancement plays a vital role in fulfilling FCA's vision by providing direction in donor and board engagement. This position is responsible for equipping regional staff with the competency to cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and board members, ensuring alignment with FCA's ministry strategy and driving the advancement of its mission. The Regional Director exemplifies FCA's core values--Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence--while fostering unity and organizational alignment across the region.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Spiritual Leadership - Personal Accountability & Growth:
  • Pursue Christlike Character - Actively seek to grow in Christlikeness through a personal spiritual growth plan that includes Bible reading, prayer, study, discipleship, and serving.
  • Uphold Biblical Integrity - Maintain sound biblical doctrine and ensure personal beliefs and actions align with Scripture.
  • Commit to Rest and Renewal - Intentionally utilize the FCA Sabbatical Policy and other rhythms of rest for spiritual, emotional, and physical renewal.
  • Engage in Christian Community - Remain actively involved in a local church body through worship, fellowship, giving, and service.
  • Practice Spiritual Disciplines - Regularly engage in fasting, prayer, solitude, journaling, and other practices that deepen intimacy with God.
  • Seek Godly Counsel - Pursue accountability relationships, mentoring, and spiritual direction to remain faithful in ministry and personal life.
  • Live a Witnessed Faith - Demonstrate integrity, humility, and servant leadership in all areas of life, modeling a lifestyle that glorifies Christ.

Regional Leadership:
  • Provide strategic leadership in donor and board advancement across the region, ensuring alignment with FCA's ministry strategy and mission.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors and board members to strengthen ministry impact and sustainability.
  • Equip regional board development efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement.
  • Collaborate with field staff to identify donor prospects and implement customized engagement strategies.
  • Equip staff and board members with the tools, training, and resources necessary to effectively engage donors and advance FCA's mission.
  • Promote FCA's board and donor engagement practices, ensuring consistent use of systems and processes to build staff capacity and competence.

Organizational Leadership:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President of International Advancement (EVP) and other Regional Directors to ensure alignment with FCA's strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on monthly calls and project teams to share best practices, test and design new tools, and contribute to continuous improvement across regions.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between field staff, regional leadership, and organizational EVP.
  • Provide input and feedback to the EVP helping shape organizational direction and resource development.

Financial Stewardship:
  • Raise the personal support needed to fund the position through a Home Team consisting of Automatic Monthly Partners (AMP) and Recurring Funding Partners (RFP).
  • Submit an annual budget for all expenses assigned by the supervisor.
  • Manage and steward the finances for the assigned area of responsibility.

COMPETENCIES
  • Mature Christian with strong personal spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible study, discipleship).
  • Leadership and team development skills; able to coach, mentor, train, and equip staff in donor and board engagement.
  • Strategic leadership; aligns donor and board initiatives with FCA's ministry strategy.
  • Relationship cultivation and stewardship with major donors, board members, board chairs, and ministry partners.
  • Program management skills, including planning, implementing, and evaluating donor and board engagement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to raise funds beyond home team support. i.e. development funds, ministry projects.
  • Communication and relationship-building with staff, donors, board members, and volunteers.
  • Collaboration across teams; ability to foster unity and organizational alignment.
  • Ability to cast vision for Local, Regional and International investment opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented

EXPERIENCE
  • 5--10 years of experience in ministry, faith-based organizations, or donor/board development roles.
  • Track record of developing staff, growing programs, and advancing donor and board engagement.
  • Experience managing budgets and raising personal and ministry support.
  • Active participation in a local church and demonstrated spiritual maturity.
