Job Requirements
Serve as the client’s primary advocate with carriers, adjusters, TPAs, and defense counsel throughout the life cycle of claims
Analyze commercial insurance policies, including workers’ compensation, general liability, auto, property, and professional liability, toidentifyand assert all available coverage arguments on behalf of clients facing carrier denials or coverage limitations
Review contracts, indemnity agreements, andadditionalinsured endorsements toidentifycoverage obligations andleveragecontractual protections in support of client recovery
Lead advocacy efforts on first party property claims frominitialreport through settlement, challenge carrierpositionsand work to maximize recovery for clients
Advocate on complex liability claims, pushing back on carrier coverage defenses and working to secure the broadest possible coverage outcome for clients
Organize andparticipatein claim review meetings and new business presentations with clients
Participate in internal sales meetings
Maintain comprehensive claim files and diary systems to ensure consistent follow-through on advocacy strategies, coverage positions, and client commitments
Maintainhigh levelof interaction with HUB account service teams
Draft and issue formal coverage advocacy letters, rebuttal correspondence, and reservation of rights responses challenging carrier coverage positions and asserting client rights under the policy
Document and communicate claims advocacy wins, coverage recoveries, and outcomes achieved for clients to support retention and new business efforts
Contribute to quarterly newsletters and client-facing content highlighting claim trends, advocacy strategies, and coverage wins to educate clients anddemonstrateHUBs claims value
Demonstrate effective claim management skills and mentor other colleagues on complex claim nuances.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly superviseoneclaimsadvocateemployee,providingday-to-day guidance on claim strategy, coverage advocacy, and client interactions
Conduct regular one-on-ones and annual performance reviews, setting clear goals and providing actionable feedback aligned with HUBs claims standards and client service expectations
Identifyprofessional development opportunities for direct reports, including technical training, designation coursework, and exposure to complex coverage matters
Mentorclaimsadvocateemployeethrough claims escalation process.
Foster a collaborative, client-first team culture that emphasizes accountability, continuous learning, and effective carrier advocacy
Required Experience:
10 years of commercial insurance claims experience, with a strong emphasis on client-side advocacy and carrier dispute resolution
Demonstrated ability to challenge carrier coverage denials, reservation of rights letters, and adverse coverage positions across property, CGL, and specialty lines
Track recordof achieving favorable coverage outcomes on complex claims through persistent advocacy, policy analysis, and strategic engagement with carriers and TPAs
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Strong analytical skills with the ability toidentifycoverage arguments, policy ambiguities, and contractual protections that support client recovery
Excellent oral & written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate coverage positions, challenge carrier arguments, and guide clients through complex claims
Proficiencywith all MS Office Applications and claims management systems
P&C Licenserequired; can be secured post-hire
Occasional travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional designations such as CIC, CRM, CPCU, or AIC
