Job DescriptionThe Regional Business Director will prepare for the anticipated launch of tirabrutinib, a highly potent and selective Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor being advanced for patients with relapsed or refractory primary central nervous system lymphoma (R/R PCNSL). PCNSL is a rare and aggressive extra-nodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma with significant unmet need, and tirabrutinib represents an important potential new treatment option for patients facing limited therapeutic choices.
The Regional Business Director will lead a regional sales team and play a critical role in shaping launch readiness by building regional business plans, developing team capabilities, and partnering closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to prepare for a successful launch and support Deciphera's efforts to bring tirabrutinib to patients in need.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & Business Planning (25%) - Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with organizational strategy, including clear actions, timelines, and success metrics
- Analyze market dynamics, customer segments, and business performance to inform strategy and decision-making. Identify customer needs and align organizational resources to effectively meet those needs
- Provide strategic input to commercial planning, including feedback on tools, resources, and field execution strategies
- Develop data-driven assessments of business performance and provide recommendations to optimize future outcomes
Sales Leadership & Execution Excellence (30%) - Lead team execution to achieve or exceed business objectives through effective prioritization, planning, and resource utilization
- Ensure effective use of tools (e.g., CRM systems) to manage customer engagement, track progress, and optimize performance
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a seamless and compliant customer experience
- Optimize territory alignment, customer targeting, and field activities to maximize impact
- Ensure completion of required administrative and compliance-related activities
Talent Leadership & Team Development (25%) - Lead and develop a high-performing sales team through coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Establish clear performance expectations aligned with business goals and organizational values
- Assess individual and team capabilities, identify gaps, and implement targeted development plans
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and accountability
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent while building a strong leadership pipeline
Cross-Functional Leadership & Enterprise Collaboration (10%) - Partner effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Medical, Commercial Operations, Training) to drive aligned execution
- Influence and contribute to broader commercial strategy and organizational initiatives
- Share insights and best practices across teams to enhance overall business performance
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across field and home office functions
Culture, Compliance & Operational Leadership (10%) - Promote a culture grounded in integrity, accountability, collaboration, and patient focus
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage regional budgets and operational activities in alignment with business objectives
- Lead with a strong ethical framework and reinforce expected behaviors across the team
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned QualificationsRequired Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or related discipline
- 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry including 3+ years front-line malignant hematology sales experience and 5+ years experience in malignant hematology or oncology sales leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, organizing, developing, and retaining a cohesive, high performing sales team
- Proven track record of delivering results in competitive, complex environments
- Strong ability to analyze data, generate insights, and inform business strategy
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional partners to achieve business objectives
- Strong communication, leadership presence, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Capabilities - Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD)
- Oncology or specialty pharmaceutical experience
- Experience in rare disease and/or complex, access-driven markets
- Experience supporting or building commercial capabilities (e.g., sales operations, analytics, training)
- Strong understanding of the full commercial ecosystem (e.g., marketing, market access, insights & analytics)
- Experience leading in dynamic, fast-paced, or growth-oriented environments
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and operate across multiple levels of the organization
Additional InformationDeciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $208,000 - $286,000. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance and/or location.
