Full Job Description
D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Region Human Resources Manager. The right candidate will handle all aspects of Human Resources and payroll at the region level. Serve as liaison between corporate and each division. Handle all employee relations issues. Provide leadership and support in planning, developing and organizing the Human Resource function and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Implement and direct the region's Human Resource processes and procedures
  • Participate in the long-range planning for programs and strategies to ensure the attraction, motivation, development and retention of future employees in the region
  • Provide strategic support to executive team and management of the region
  • Provide leadership and consulting support to executives and management on matters of goal setting, policy development and strategic implementation to support achieving corporate objectives and business growth
  • Oversee the recruitment process for prospective employees
  • Assist in training staff
  • Direct and assist managers regarding employee disciplinary processes and actions
  • Ensure managers are aware and compliant in exercising company policies relating to management responsibilities
  • Respond to and answer employee questions concerning benefits and Human Resources policies
  • Process salary increases, bonuses, transfers, promotions and terminations
  • Administer and oversee worker's compensation documentation and processes for divisions in region
  • Verify all Human Resources policies are followed
  • Manage administrative staff
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Notify department managers of employee vacation/sick/personal time balances
  • Ability to travel overnight

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises 1 or more employee


Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships via teams and other remote style communications
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Management, Business Administration or a related field from a four-year college or university preferred
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Taleo experience a plus
