What's in it for you:Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Life Science Solutions business.
As a Project Engineer, you will be a key member of the Operations organization and work closely with Sales and Fulfillment teams to create and deliver competitive designs for refrigeration systems. The selected individual must have the technical expertise to develop complex refrigeration solutions and understand how to deliver applications that meet our customer's needs.
What you will do:- Work with the Sales and Project Development teams to determine appropriate concepts, designs and offerings for the customer's needs.
- Provide engineering analysis of refrigeration systems and present recommendations.
- Develop refrigeration system designs, using industry experience to provide solutions best suited for the application.
- Prepare load and sizing calculations, specify and select equipment, components and materials. Direct sourcing efforts and approve alternate suppliers when appropriate.
- Work with Sales and Project Developers in the estimation of project costs.
- Prepare engineering specifications and provide direction to the drafting staff in the preparation of project drawings.
- Lead drafting personnel in the development of plans and standards.
- Manage revisions of drawings and issue plans per project schedules.
- Provide engineering support to construction and service technicians as necessary.
- Both domestic and international travel may be required. Estimated travel is 15%.
What you will bring:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- At least 5-7 years of engineering or field experience is required.
- Refrigeration experience strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineering license is a plus.
Key Competencies:- Expert understanding of Refrigeration systems including heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid flow, airflow, mechanical design, and controls.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, with a working ability in CAD, Project, Excel, and other systems
- Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.
- Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.
