DescriptionPosition DescriptionMercer Celgar is seeking a safety-minded, highly skilled Red Seal Millwright to join the maintenance team in Castlegar, BC. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the precision maintenance and reliability of a wide array of heavy industrial equipment within a world-class pulp facility.
Core Responsibilities- Prioritize and uphold the Celgar World Class Safety Program in all daily activities.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial machinery including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and turbines.
- Perform precision alignments and fits using specialized hand and power tools.
- Execute prescribed preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure maximum mill uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and operations departments, to solve mechanical challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while managing tool inventory and maintenance records.
Qualifications and Experience- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (RSE) as a Millwright is required.
- Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of vibration analysis, oil sampling, and other predictive maintenance technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure during mill shutdowns or emergency repair situations.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of working collaboratively in a team setting.
