Job Description:

The Record-to-Report (R2R) Closing & Reporting Lead is responsible for the period-end close, financial reporting and balance-sheet analysis activities performed by Mars Global Services Finance (MGSF) in support of Royal Canin North America. This role helps ensure financial results are complete, accurate and delivered on time in accordance with Mars accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, applicable regulatory requirements and Mars Process and Control Standards (PACS).

As a key member of the General Accounting team, this position provides leadership across complex accounting processes, partners closely with business and controllership stakeholders, and supports continued improvements in automation, digitalization and standardization.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Strong experience in record-to-report, general accounting, period-end close and financial reporting within a complex business environment.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general-ledger accounting, balance-sheet analysis and financial controls.
  • Experience applying internal control standards and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Experience working with enterprise accounting and reporting systems; SAP and OneStream experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate priorities, organize resources and provide direction across an accounting operations team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex accounting matters and recommend practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a collaborative and continuous-improvement mindset.


What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Own the period-end close, reporting and balance-sheet analysis processes for Royal Canin North America, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of general-ledger activity.
  • Coordinate accounting activities and team resources to ensure close tasks, service-level commitments and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Lead the full closing and reporting cycle, from SAP ledger closure through OneStream reporting submissions.
  • Review complex financial results and accounting activity, identify risks or discrepancies, and provide technically sound recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary General Accounting contact for Royal Canin business stakeholders, corporate controllership and internal and external audit teams.
  • Maintain an effective internal control environment, ensure compliance with PACS and confirm that established accounting procedures are consistently followed.
  • Partner with upstream finance teams and supported business units to coordinate process transitions, resolve accounting matters and strengthen service delivery.
  • Lead improvements to closing and reporting processes, including automation, digitalization, standardization and other MGSF transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor closing and reporting performance through established metrics, including on-time completion of close tasks and the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 119,040.00 - USD 163,680.00
