Summary

The Receiving Section Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all receiving operations and outbound packaging/release activities within the facility. This position ensures all inbound materials, components, and products received through freight, express, parcel, ground carriers, third-party warehouses, Vendor-Owned Inventory (VOI) hubs, and outsourcing partners are accurately received, inspected, transacted, and made available for operations in a timely manner. The Receiving Section Manager also oversees outbound shipment preparation activities, including cartonization, packaging verification, labeling, box marking, documentation verification, and carrier release readiness. This role is responsible for ensuring all shipment contents are accurate and complete before carrier pickup. Transportation documentation and export compliance activities remain under the responsibility of the Shipping Section. This position drives operational excellence, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, employee development, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to support company objectives and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Receiving Operations Management
  • Lead and manage all inbound receiving activities for domestic and international freight, express, parcel, ground, and truck deliveries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipt of purchase orders and completion of all required SAP/MES/ERP goods receipt and material movement transactions.
  • Monitor receiving performance to ensure all incoming materials are processed within established service level targets.
  • Oversee unloading, inspection, verification, and handling of incoming materials in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged shipments, quantity variances, missing documentation, and supplier delivery issues.
  • ?Ensure all receiving transactions are completed accurately and reflected in ERP systems without delay.

Third-Party Warehouse and VOI Management
  • Lead and monitor third-party warehouse operations and Vendor-Owned Inventory (VOI) hub replenishment activities.
  • Ensure timely Goods Receipt processing and inventory visibility within ERP systems.

Leadership and Workforce Management
  • Manage Receiving Clerks, Coordinators, Supervisors, and other assigned personnel
  • Plan staffing requirements, workload balancing, overtime utilization, PTO scheduling, and cross-training activities.
  • Establish performance expectations and departmental goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and employee development activities
  • Develop succession planning and talent growth within the receiving organization

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse, logistics, receiving, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications, or related industries preferred

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
