The Opportunity:

Join our dynamic team as a Mission Lead. In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating the missions supported by the contract, as well as assessing current tasking, collection, processing, and dissemination of data in support of mission objectives. You will continuously evaluate the mission concept of operations (CONOP), assess the tools and applications, and recommend innovations or enhancements to improve the efficiency and efficacy of the operations team. You will interface with shift operations to receive their feedback on system performance and support Government Operations Officers, who are engaged in the full cycle of collection operations, ranging from mission analysis, concept development, plan development, to supporting execution and finally assessing mission success. This role serves as the primary point of contact for mission-related activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the missions supported by the contract and assess current tasking, collection, processing, and dissemination of data in support of mission objectives.

  • Continuously evaluate the mission concept of operations (CONOP), assess tools and applications, and recommend innovations or enhancements to improve operational efficiency and efficacy.

  • Interface with shift operations to receive feedback on system performance.

  • Support Government Operations Officers in the full cycle of collection operations, including mission analysis, concept development, plan development, execution support, and assessments of mission success.

  • Provide advanced mentorship, assistance, and training to Mission Support Specialists, operators, and other team members.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of mission support strategies and processes.

  • Ensure alignment of mission support activities with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor and evaluate mission performance, seeking improvements and efficiencies.

  • Coordinate standards of operation and ensure compliance with mission requirements.

  • Work closely with crew leads on certification of team members and manage cross-system training programs.

  • Certify and gain a deep understanding of all mission systems.

  • Ensure the team is prepared to support system testing after upgrades and during maintenance activities.

  • Train team members on mission systems to ensure they are proficient and up-to-date with the latest procedures and technologies.

  • Monitor system performance to respond to event notifications and determine appropriate courses of action.

  • Provide quality control and technical input for problem reports or discrepancy reports created


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A TS/SCI with a minimum Polygraph is required to begin employment.
    Continued employment may require obtaining a higher-level polygraph.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within mission operations or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of mission support systems and operations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in a real-time operations environment or real-time watch operations support.

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of satellite communications.

  • Understanding of Radio Frequency spectrums and their utilization, acquisition, and correction.

  • Understanding of operating complex satellite infrastructure and satellite communication systems.

  • Self-motivated with the ability and desire to learn complex systems with minimal direction.

  • Routine interaction with multiple customers.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
