Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $90,000-$100,000/year

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, onsite 5 days/week. Flexibility to stay later when needed to complete projects or meet deadlines is important.

Job Description:

The Real Estate Paralegal will s upport commercial real estate and retail leasing activities, including lease drafting and abstracting, document review, due diligence, transaction coordination, and maintaining accurate records. Work closely with attorneys and other stakeholders to manage deadlines, track open items, and ensure documents and transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and abstract a variety of commercial leases, including retail, office, ground, mixed-use, and residential leases using established forms.
  • Prepare lease request forms and documentation for internal real estate committee approval.
  • Support lease and amendment negotiations and provide general support throughout leasing transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate and financing transactions, including reviewing surveys, title commitments, and exception documents.
  • Review deeds, easements, escrow instructions, owner affidavits, closing certificates, entitlements, settlement statements, and other transaction documents.
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Research and summarize zoning ordinances, statutes, and other legal information for attorney review.
  • Maintain organized spreadsheets and tracking systems for tenants, leases, deal flow, deadlines, and outstanding items.
  • Work with tenants, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders in a professional and responsive manner.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with commercial leasing; retail leasing experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with lease drafting and abstracting is a must.
  • Experience with retail, mixed-use, and/or residential leasing strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills required; basic Excel skills are acceptable.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Must demonstrate ownership, accountability, and pride in the quality of their work.
