Full Job Description
The Position

Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Transactional Real Estate Attorney to join our growing firm. The ideal candidate will have significant experience independently managing commercial and residential real estate transactions, representing lenders, and overseeing all aspects of the closing process. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transactions within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and manage commercial and residential real estate transactions from contract through closing.
  • Represent lenders in commercial and residential lending transactions, including the preparation, review, and negotiation of loan documents.
  • Coordinate and oversee closings, including preparation and review of Closing Disclosures (CDs) and related closing documentation.
  • Review corporate formation and organizational documents in connection with lending and real estate transactions.
  • Analyze title reports, resolve title issues, and ensure title clearance prior to closing.
  • Supervise and manage paralegal workflow to ensure timely and efficient file progression.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding transaction status, legal issues, recommendations, and closing timelines.


Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience independently handling and overseeing real estate transactions
  • Experience in representation of Lender side closing transactions
  • Knowledge of Transactional and Real Estate Owned (REO) closing practices, applicable laws and documents
  • Capable of bringing in at least 1 real estate transaction/month
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required, NJ Bar preferred
  • Experience handling Real Estate Owned (REO) closings and private financing origination is preferred
  • Superior writing, legal research, and analytic skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and proficiently
  • Independent, deadline driven worker
  • Able to manage a heavy workload and ability to work well under pressure
