The Team:Structured Finance and Alternate Investment Funds
Credit Ratings is an integral part of the Global Ratings Services team, comprising a diverse group of 1,400 analysts spread across key financial hubs worldwide. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality insights and exceptional client service across all industry sectors.
The Structured Finance and Alternate Investment Funds practice evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures by analysing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash-flow mechanics, and downside stress scenarios. Analysts produce opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, bringing market-relevant perspectives on topics such as performance trends, issuance conditions, and AI's role in origination and securitization.
Our team specializes in analysing residential mortgage-backed securities across several sub-asset types including but not limited to 1st Lien, CES, HELOC etc. In this role you will support the new issue and surveillance end-to-end analysis of RMBS transactions.
Responsibilities:Team Contribution & Capability Building
- Develop credit judgement through feedback/coaching and standard methodologies; reinforce standard ways of working to improve consistency and trust.
- Support AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and automations that support judgment, reduce rework, and accelerate delivery.
- Support onboarding/capability-building of more junior colleagues through guidance on routines, quality standards, and effective use of approved tools.
- Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives.
- Support innovation by proactively challenging existing processes, leveraging new tools, and applying fresh perspectives to complex data and problem-solving,
Core Analytical & Delivery
- Own delivery for assigned credits with clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks/dependencies to ensure decision-ready outputs.
- Maintain ongoing surveillance for assigned credits you support with, synthesizing developments into insights that support analytical discussions and committee materials with clear evidence.
- Build/maintain analytical packs using standard templates; apply automation to reduce rework while retaining human ownership of conclusions.
- Use approved GenAI/LLM tools as an enabler for research/comparison/drafting
- Collect/reconcile/validate data; identify anomalies/gaps early.
- Support maintenance/review of models under guidance; document assumptions/changes; standardize routines to reduce operational risk.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Support rating committees by preparing well-evidenced materials and responding to follow-up questions with transparency on sources and assumptions.
- Translates data, analysis, and research into clear, decision-ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Clarifying technical information, bringing new ideas forward and adapting messaging to the audience.
Risk Management and Operating
- Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently, ensuring human accountability for final analysis and committee content.
- Support testing of automation/agentic AI tools identified through process improvement initiatives.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates:)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $62,000 USD to $89,000 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual's performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For:- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within a Structured Finance Ratings capacity or prior work experience working in residential mortgage credit at a bank or independent mortgage company.

Additional Information
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have two to three years' of relevant work experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
