A Taste of What You'll Do

We're looking for a hands-on vineyard operations leader to oversee daily farming activities across assigned ranches and help drive safe, efficient, high-quality results from vineyard development through harvest. In this role, you'll coordinate essential vineyard operations including pruning, irrigation, weed and pest control, chemical applications, cultivation, canopy management, and harvest readiness. You'll also partner closely with Vineyard Management on new vineyard development, including land preparation, trellis and irrigation installation, planting, and vine training.

This position also leads shop and equipment operations, ensuring ranch vehicles, tractors, ATVs, implements, and harvesters are properly maintained, repaired, and ready to support the work. You'll coordinate preventive maintenance, procure parts and supplies, monitor repair schedules, and help manage inventories, budgets, and operating plans. Success in this role requires balancing field priorities, equipment needs, timelines, and resources while supporting strong execution across multiple workstreams.

Just as important, you'll lead people. You'll schedule daily work, assign priorities, support employee development, provide performance input, facilitate team meetings, solve operational issues, and communicate organizational goals clearly. You'll also help deliver training, presentations, and annual safety programs while ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, GMP, and safety standards. What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibly.
  • Required to travel to various company owned ranches along the coast (to include extended hours, weekend and late-night assignments).
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to reside on or near the Company properties whose operations or security they are responsible for overseeing to ensure immediate availability and responsiveness to operational needs.
  • Bilingual speaker and writer (English/Spanish).
  • Experience working with and leading FLC labor force to complete assigned work.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out
  • Bachelor's degree in Viticulture or Business Administration plus 6 years of vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Bilingual speaker and writer (English/Spanish).
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Experience writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate level; MS Access at a basic level.
  • Skilled in applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Skilled in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience motivating team members to achieve plan goals.
  • Experience to handling unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refer to the appropriate individual.
