This is an in-person role based in either West Sacramento, CA or Chandler, AZ.

This position is not remote or hybrid and does not offer relocation assistance.

Position Purpose
As our Senior Payroll Analyst, you will support the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll operations across the enterprise. This role serves as a senior-level resource within Payroll, contributing to daily operations, payroll accounting, system support, process improvements, and strategic initiatives while partnering across Finance, HRIS, and IT.

What You'll Do & How You'll Make a Difference
• Support end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Review payroll results, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues prior to finalization
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Support complex payroll transactions including retroactive adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle processing
• Perform payroll-to-general ledger reconciliations and validate payroll postings
• Partner with Finance on account mapping, accruals, and variance analysis
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payroll, general ledger, and related systems
• Maintain documentation supporting payroll controls and audit requirements
• Monitor payroll system functionality and data integrity
• Validate payroll-related file feeds and system integrations
• Troubleshoot payroll system issues and coordinate resolution with HRIS, IT, and vendors
• Support ongoing payroll data governance and control processes
• Support Oracle payroll updates, patches, and quarterly releases
• Participate in functional, regression, and payroll validation testing
• Document test results, identify defects, and support issue resolution
• Participate in payroll-related projects, system upgrades, and process improvements
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payroll operations
• Support standardization of payroll processes across operating companies
• Serve as a key resource for payroll inquiries from HR, Finance, and business partners
• Provide guidance on payroll processes, timelines, and impacts
• Support payroll training, documentation, and communication efforts
• Serve as interim Payroll Manager or acting Payroll Supervisor as needed for business continuity

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business or HR-related field
• Five (5+) years of progressive payroll processing, payroll accounting, or payroll systems experience
• Multi-state payroll experience preferred
• Oracle HCM or similar payroll system experience preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge
• Payroll operations, accounting principles, and compliance requirements
• General ledger processes and financial reconciliation practices
• Payroll system integrations and data interfaces

Work Environment
Work is performed in a business office environment. This position requires frequent travel to store locations or off-site meetings, and some overnight travel to remote locations may be required.
