Position Purpose As our Manager of Leave of Absence & Accommodations, you will lead the administration and continuous improvement of leave of absence, ADA accommodations, and return-to-work programs. This role combines leadership and hands-on support, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and a positive team member experience while partnering closely with HR, Legal, Payroll, and business leaders. What You'll Do & How You'll Make a Difference • Oversee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, disability, personal leave, and state and local leave programs • Lead the interactive process for ADA accommodations and ensure timely case management • Manage return-to-work and transitional duty programs • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and documentation across all locations • Ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, ERISA, and applicable state and local laws • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary policy and process updates • Partner with Legal and Team Member Relations on complex or high-risk cases • Maintain documentation supporting audits, investigations, and legal matters • Supervise and develop Leave of Absence and Accommodations team members • Manage team workload and ensure service level expectations are met • Foster a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and technology solutions • Monitor vendor performance and vendor relationships • Standardize workflows and reporting across operating companies • Serve as a subject matter expert for HR, leaders, and business partners • Provide guidance on accommodations, return-to-work plans, and complex employee situations • Design and deliver training related to leave administration and ADA compliance • Monitor leave duration, accommodation trends, and return-to-work metrics • Analyze data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement • Prepare reports and insights for leadership Qualifications Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field • Five (5+) years of progressive experience in leave administration, disability management, or accommodations • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Knowledge • Leave of absence and ADA accommodation laws, policies, and practices • Federal, state, and local leave regulations and compliance requirements • Interactive process administration and disability management practices Skills & Abilities • Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies, and plan documents • Ability to explain complex issues in a clear and understandable manner • Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs • Strong customer service and responsiveness to team member inquiries • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information • Commitment to a culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration Certifications Required • PHR and/or CLMS certification preferred Physical Demands • Sitting for extended periods • Viewing computer monitor • Frequent telephone usage Work Environment Work is performed in a business office environment. This position requires frequent travel to store locations or off-site meetings, and some overnight travel to remote locations may be required. Permanent residency in California or Nevada is a condition of employment for this position.
