Description:
In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures.
The goal is to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
Responsibilities include transferring patients for examinations and utilizing ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
The technologist assists with the x-ray examination process.
Essential duties include conducting diagnostic x-ray procedures.
The technologist is responsible for the appropriate operation of all x-ray imaging and related equipment.
They educate, position, immobilize, and perform x-ray procedures.
Coordination of x-ray examinations ensures timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
The technologist understands and follows provider imaging orders correctly.
They submit required images and related clinical information for interpretation.
Appropriate evaluation of image quality is essential.
Open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, and leadership is a must.
The technologist utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies appropriately.
Practicing sterile technique and following infection prevention policies is important.
They must handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Safely performing x-ray procedures includes managing patient transfers.
The technologist prepares and administers contrast according to protocol.
Following radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety is a priority.
They supervise and evaluate student radiographers in the clinical setting.
