Job Description
Job Title: Radiology Technologist
Profession: Radiology Tech

Shift: 10-hour day shift
Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Experience: Minimum one year post-certification experience required
License: ARRT-R Required
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, Kansas LRT required
Must-Have: Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma.
Description:
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department.
Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.
Serve as a clinical resource to students and staff.
Assure current standards of practice for the unit are met.
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures to ensure safety for self and patients.
Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing exposure to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Prepare patients for exams and provide information regarding procedures.
Respond to physical and emotional needs of patients and family members.
Assist patients during exams and position them appropriately.
Observe patients and equipment during procedures and report/document unusual occurrences.
Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of resources.
Communicate in writing and verbally with all personnel involved in patient care.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
Complete required paperwork for each exam performed.
Prepare rooms, equipment, and exam materials needed for procedures.
Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
Notify supervisors of equipment problems and log service calls.
Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
Complete quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.
Be proactive in identifying problems and follow up with appropriate personnel.
Establish constructive rapport with all departments and staff.
Maintain a high skill level through ongoing education and meeting attendance.
Engage in professional activities and demonstrate a positive attitude toward the profession.
Actively participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all regulations and standards.
Contribute to accreditation processes as requested.
Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements.
Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, and census through flexibility.
