Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Experience: One year post certification experience required
License: Licensed Radiology Technologist required for facilities.
Certifications: ARRT-R Required: Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT). BLS American Heart Association Required.

Must-Have:
Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma as required.
Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.

Description:
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department.
Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other associate technologists.
Act as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other personnel.
Assure current standards of practice are followed for the unit.
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
Practice all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety, minimizing exposure to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instruction regarding procedures.
Respond to the physical and emotional needs of patients.
Assist patients during exams and position them accordingly.
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting unusual occurrences and recording patients' conditions.
Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment and resources.
Communicate in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and staff to facilitate the continuum of care.
Assist with patient transport as necessary.
Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
Perform duties of other registered modalities as assigned by management.
Be able to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and policy.
Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used.
Complete required paperwork for each exam performed.
Prepare rooms, equipment, and exam materials needed for exams.
Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify services when necessary.
Notify supervisors of equipment problems and log service calls per procedure.
Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
Document quality checks and equipment maintenance.
Proactively identify problems and follow up with appropriate management personnel.
Establish a motivating, constructive rapport with staff and physicians.
Maintain a high level of skill through ongoing education and meetings, sharing information with colleagues.
Assist in the clinical and/or didactic education of student radiographers and other healthcare professionals.
Encourage students to perform examinations and provide feedback on radiographs.
Participate in clinical training and support students and staff.
Provide guidance for developing clinical skills, explaining equipment and department procedures.
Engage in professional activities through involvement in organizations and education, demonstrating a positive attitude toward the profession.
Actively participate in department and quality improvement initiatives.
