Full Job Description
Under minimal supervision, provides leadership in conjunction with Manager of Imaging. Provides day to day support for Manager of Imaging which includes oversight of assigned area(s), daily operations, and supervision of specific area(s) of responsibility. Assists Manager in department planning, policy deployment and continuous improvement efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in area(s) of responsibility
  • Arrange for training and orientation of all new employees working in department. Develops competency checklists for new employees
  • Ensures department compliance with Washington State Department of Health, United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the American College Radiology (ACR) guidelines and compliance mandates
  • Ensures compliance with and continuity of ACR accreditation for modality(s) in area of responsibility
  • Proficient at communicating, delegating, inspiring and motivating staff development and staff engagement
  • Displays high level of critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient at Power Point, Excel, Crystal Reports, and system functions critical to data extrapolation
  • Responsible for assisting Leads where applicable to ensure up to date Policies and Procedures


Diagnostic Imaging Operations/Leadership Support:

  • Direct work of staff, including supervision, hiring, and terminations; determine staffing needs, and ensure efficient utilization of staff
  • Attends formal leadership training as identified by Manager of Imaging
  • Responsible for scheduling; including timecard and PTO management in payroll system, and assure appropriate staffing coverage during weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Acts as a liaison between department and clinical areas
  • Adheres to all corporate compliance policies and regulations
  • Attends management/leadership meetings
  • Participates in management and technical training
  • Conducts performance appraisals in conjunction with Manager and any assigned Leads
  • Provides timely and continuous staff performance counseling and on-going feedback to direct reports
  • Assists Manager of Imaging in developing performance appraisal goals and metrics
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating Diagnostic Imaging dashboard indicators (metrics) at designated locations
  • Facilitates Imaging Modality Value Stream Mapping on an annual basis
  • Develops and facilitates Diagnostic Imaging policy deployment strategies in conjunction with leads and Imaging Director
  • Responsible for overseeing continuous improvement in operating margin as a % of revenue as determined by policy deployment and annual goal setting
  • Responsible for workflow design, structure, and culture to improve operations in conjunction with Manager of Imaging
  • Performs designated department financial analyses as assigned by Manager of Imaging, including net present value, internal rate of return and payback in conjunction with Manager
  • Responsible for assisting leads with financial goal setting in conjunction with the Manager
  • Ensures maintenance of active accreditation and/or certification status of the imaging equipment under area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, accreditations or certifications granted by the ACR, AIUM, MQSA and/or Washington State Dept of Health
  • Responsible for service recovery (customer complaints) and methodologies for documentation trending and improvement
  • Delegates, organizes, and trends annual physician and customer satisfaction surveys

  • Frequently must follow written and oral instructions as well as complete routine tasks independently
  • Completes annual compliance training on HIPAA/Privacy/Confidentiality/Non-Discrimination/Harassment/Integrity Statement and signs Agreements
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines and Optum PNW policies
  • Attends training to meet requirements of the job position and as needed or mandated by Optum PNW policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I and other state/federal regulations
  • Has regular and predictable attendance

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography), or approved equivalent; and Washington State CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist), not required for Ultrasound
  • Computer skills for managing schedules and developing policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated team working abilities, flexibility to changing priorities and ability to take initiative to act in the best interests of the department and The Everett Clinic
  • Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree within 2 years of job performance
  • 3+ years of lead/supervisory experience and an absolute commitment to positive patient and employee relations
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated team working abilities, flexibility to changing priorities and ability to take initiative to assist in the department
  • Ability to work cooperatively with employees, patients, supervisors, and physicians
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
