Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Profession: Clinical - Allied

Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Experience: One year of current clinical experience OR clinical student experience
License: Current State of license as a Radiographer
Certifications: ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology
Must-Have: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification
Description:
Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology.
Operate imaging equipment as directed by a radiologist or other providers.
Perform diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols while utilizing appropriate radiation protection measures.
Adhere to customer service standards and support organizational excellence initiatives.
Provide positive interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
Perform ancillary services and assist in patient care areas as necessary.
Perform radiologic/fluoroscopic procedures accurately and efficiently with minimal discomfort to the patient.
Explain the exam to the patient and interview to obtain personal medical history, documenting this information into the system.
Assist patients throughout the exam and thank them upon conclusion.
Provide radiation protection to self and patients in accordance with safety standards.
Appropriately position patients and select technical factors to produce high-quality images with minimal repeats.
Ensure correct image identification, including placement of ID markers and proper annotation.
Review each study for technical accuracy.
Work in partnership with other staff to ensure appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams.
Assist in transporting patients as needed.
Communicate and collaborate with radiologists and ordering providers during exams for guidance on protocols and order clarification.
Approve images, match orders to images, and archive to the system.
Perform reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
Document fluoroscopy time and estimated skin exposure for fluoroscopy studies.
Demonstrate proficiency in the electronic health record system.
Follow workflow from order entry/verification to end of exam, including notes, medication documentation, and supply charges where applicable.
Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and shift rotations to support departmental needs.
Proactively seek additional opportunities within the department to enhance efficiency and work cohesively.
Offer assistance to others, including preparing exam rooms for the next patient, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work area.
Provide a positive teaching and learning environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Act as a mentor and role model, assisting in onboarding new employees.
Observe malfunctioning equipment and follow proper procedures to report issues.
Follow procedures for reporting equipment issues and provide minor troubleshooting as needed.
