What You Will Do:

We are currently searching for an experienced radiochemist to support the development of specialized molecular imaging probes in support of the NIH. This full time position is located in Bethesda, MD.
  • Manage the routine production of PET radiotracers, including maintaining thorough and accurate production documentation.
  • Synthesize, purify, and characterize novel PET imaging probes to support preclinical and clinical research programs.
  • Develop and optimize radiolabeling methods for new imaging probes.
  • Produce tracers to support preclinical and clinical research and transition promising radiotracers from research-scale synthesis to GMP-compliant production when appropriate.
  • Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot radiolabeling methods for emerging molecular imaging agents and translational research applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, produce, and deliver novel molecular imaging probes.
  • Adhere to GMP, radiation safety, laboratory safety, and institutional quality standards while working with radioactive materials and radiopharmaceutical production systems.
  • Analyze experimental data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings through written documentation, presentations, and scientific discussions.


What You Will Need:
  • Master's degree
  • Minimum of THREE (3) years of radiochemistry experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the synthesis of novel positron emission tomography (PET) imaging probes, particularly those labeled with fluorine-18 (18F) and zirconium-89 (89Zr).
  • Experience with automated synthesis platforms including GE TRACERlab and Trasis AllinOne modules is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) radiopharmaceutical production.
  • A strong background in radiochemistry and analytical chemistry.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00-$124,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
