Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Radio Solutions Engineer to take full ownership of Netflix's radio infrastructure, from initial design and implementation through ongoing lifecycle management and continuous optimization. This role will be critical in ensuring Netflix's communication systems are robust, secure, cost-effective, and built for scalability and operational excellence.

This role will serve as a technical owner and subject matter expert for enterprise radio systems, partnering with cross-functional teams, leadership, and external vendors to ensure solutions meet current operational requirements while supporting future growth.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Los Gatos, CA. Regional travel of approximately 15% will be required.
Essential Job Functions

System Architecture & Planning
  • Design & Deploy: Architect and implement secure radio networks, including authentication, segmentation, and access controls, tailored to operational bandwidth, coverage, capacity, and user density requirements.
  • Site Analysis & Testing: Conduct surveys to optimize antenna placement, manage capacity planning, and validate optimal signal coverage.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed, up-to-date architectural diagrams of the entire radio ecosystem.


Operations & Lifecycle Management
  • System Administration: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for radio systems, leveraging proactive monitoring, performance metrics, and KPIs to identify trends and prevent downtime.
  • Asset & EOL Management: Direct the full hardware lifecycle, including inventory management, maintenance planning, technology refresh cycles, and phased end-of-life (EOL) replacement strategies.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze radio traffic and network congestion to proactively forecast and execute infrastructure upgrades.


Budgeting & Vendor Management
  • Financial Strategy: Build and manage the program's financial roadmap, optimizing short- and long-term budgets while balancing CapEx and OpEx.
  • Procurement & Partnerships: Lead end-to-end hardware/software procurement and strictly enforce SLAs, MSAs, and performance expectations with suppliers and technology partners.


Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in RF (Radio Frequency) engineering, wireless network architecture, telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-scale radio infrastructures and transitioning systems from outsourced integrators to internal ownership and management.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, wireless communications, system architecture, and enterprise radio solutions.
  • Extensive experience managing vendors, negotiating contracts, enforcing SLAs/MSAs, and maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and full hardware lifecycles, from procurement through end-of-life planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency creating architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to act as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams and leadership, ensuring radio infrastructure initiatives align with broader business objectives and operational needs.
