Job Description

Summary
The selected candidate will join a dynamic team working to put Great Systems on Orbit with capabilities to perform leading edge tasks in laser communications, space electronics and sensors.

Position Responsibilities

• Support engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.
• Perform TID, SEE, DDD, and related radiation analyses to support design of electronics systems.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure radiation effects on electronics systems are understood and characterized.
• Evaluate COTS and radiation hardened components for mission suitability.
• Interact with program teams and program managers to ensure assigned tasks align with program schedule and deliveries.
• Present radiation design risks and performance at program milestone reviews.
• Develop radiation test plans and provide review and analysis of data.
• Assist with testing efforts, test station setup, and validation and verification efforts.
• Develop standard practices for our radiation hardness and mission assurance program.
• Collaborate on program requirements development.
• Assist in developing training materials and tools for new hires.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the division and business unit.
• Participate in relevant conferences and industry organizations to maintain awareness of current state of research and make contributions to the industry.
• All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Competencies)

• Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or another relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience with Master's Degree, 4+ years of experience with PhD.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

• PhD in in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or another relevant field.
• Written and verbal communication skills necessary to present designs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office, laboratory, and production environment (constant)

Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent)

The salary range for this role is:
$137,500 - $209,750
