Full Job Description
Next Phase Solutions and Services is seeking two IT System Analysts to support a federal report automation and data modernization program. These are Key Personnel positions, contingent upon contract award.

The IT System Analysts will serve as hands-on analyst-developers supporting systems analysis, requirements development, report automation, data integration, database/data-management activities, testing, technical documentation, and user-facing applications.

We are interested in candidates with complementary strengths across backend/data integration, Tableau/reporting, front-end development, and data quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze stakeholder, business, reporting and technical requirements
  • Translate reporting requirements into technical solutions
  • Support IT systems analysis and modernization
  • Design, develop and support report-automation solutions
  • Support data-driven reporting environments
  • Develop and support data-processing and transformation workflows
  • Query and manage PostgreSQL databases
  • Develop Tableau dashboards, reports and visualizations
  • Support database and data-management initiatives
  • Integrate data from multiple systems and sources
  • Develop and support user-facing applications and interfaces
  • Support automated data collection
  • Develop and maintain data transformation, cleansing and validation processes
  • Support scheduled and real-time reporting
  • Implement and maintain data-quality controls
  • Maintain metadata and data dictionaries
  • Support data accessibility
  • Conduct requirements elicitation and documentation
  • Perform workflow and process analysis
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of systems analysis experience
  • Hands-on experience with:
      • Python
      • Java
      • SQL
      • Tableau
      • React, Angular or a similar modern web-interface technology
    • Hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including:
      • Data modeling
      • SQL querying
      • Performance tuning
      • Database migration
    • Demonstrated experience with:
      • IT systems analysis and/or modernization
      • Report automation and data-driven reporting
      • Database or data-management initiatives
      • Requirements and workflow analysis
      • Technical and/or SOP documentation
    • Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Requirements development, technical specification and impact-analysis experience
  • Report automation and SDLC experience
  • ETL/ELT and data pipelines
  • REST/API integration
  • Automated report-generation frameworks
  • Experience replacing spreadsheet/manual reporting with production automation
  • Tableau administration or advanced Tableau development

  • Federal or DHS systems experience

Security and Work Arrangement
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • DHS security/background processing must be completed before work begins
  • DHS security/privacy requirements apply
  • Existing/recent DHS suitability/EOD or prior DHS badge/system access is preferred
  • Core positions may work remotely for the full period of performance

This position is contingent upon contract award.

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required
