R&D Project Manager (San Diego, CA)

As an R&D Project Manager you will own the initiation, execution, and transfer of multiple projects to support the AM&D product portfolio of Wearable Class II medical devices.

Your role:
  • Independently executes multi-disciplinary R&D projects in support of the Ambulatory ECG portfolio of products.
  • Ensures alignment with agreed timelines, budgets, and resource constraints.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods initiating change and driving improvements within the discipline, working under limited supervision.
  • Provides influence over projects and peer groups by building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and senior management, proactively managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring all parties are aligned on project objectives.
  • Ensures continuous improvement by constantly seeking opportunities to improve project management skills and team processes, utilizing PMBok and SAFe guidelines to guide project execution, and actively participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.
  • Documents project knowledge by developing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future reference and knowledge transfer.

  • You've acquired 4+ years of experience in areas such as Project Management, Program/Portfolio Management, Innovation Management, or equivalent.
  • Your skills include:
    • Product development experience spanning concept, development, launch, and sustaining activities.
    • Knowledge of design controls and phase-gate product development processes.
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive execution in a regulated environment.
    • Experience with Smartsheet and similar project management tools, preferred.
    • Familiarity with SAFe and Agile ways of working, preferred.
    • Medical device or other regulated industry experience, preferred.
  • You have a Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Program Management or 8+ years of above related experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You're a proactive and collaborative project leader who takes initiative, communicates effectively across teams, and is comfortable working both independently and in highly cross-functional environments.


How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office role.

The pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $115,000 to $182,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
