Position
Mangrove is seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in developing and commercializing its technology. The R&D Engineer will be involved in the design, development, testing, characterization, and scaling of advanced electrolyzer components. The right candidate for the R&D Engineer position will have a strong understanding of electrochemical principles, electrochemical cell testing, electrolyser performance and durability optimization, devices, ion exchange membranes, and electrodes. The individual will have a diverse and well-rounded technical and entrepreneurial skill-set. Salary range for this position will be $70- $100k depending on experience and skills.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
- BSc in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science/engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
- 3 or more years of laboratory or industrial experience.
- Experience in AC and DC electrochemical testing methods including cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, potentiostatic and galvanostatic testing and durability testing of electrochemical components.
- Knowledge of electrochemistry, electrochemical processes, and/or water treatment is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of electrolyzer/fuel cell testing and optimization toward performance and durability improvement
- Analyze key components performances and determine their relationship with materials and process parameters
- Excellent critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving and communications skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and passionate about learning.
- Willing to be hands-on.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of scientists and engineers.
- Be a registered professional with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or have the ability to readily become one.
