Full Job Description
Job Title: R&D Engineer, I
Location: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices. This position is on-site and full time, with some travel.

What You'll Do
As a new professional in R&D, this role will assist in the early phase of design and development of endovascular-interventional medical devices. This position will participate in creative brainstorming, conceptualization and realization (prototyping) of new devices with guidance and in conjunction with other more experienced engineers. Responsibilities will include problem solving, hypothesis testing, test method development, design documentation, specification setting, prototyping, testing, data analysis, and report generation
  • Create detailed specifications, construct prototypes, and test new products or current product enhancements
  • Support studies and experiments, product testing, and protocols in accordance with project plans
  • Assist in design of new products or product enhancements in a cost-effective and timely manner and with an understanding of how the product will be manufactured
  • Help create documentation including design drawings, testing reports, engineering reports, and other technical documents in accordance with our quality system requirements
  • Collaborate with technicians in completing device testing/inspection, prototype construction and ensure technical activities are properly documented
  • Perform Design Verification testing and participate in design validation activities

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline and less than 2 years of professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Statistical analysis Software (Minitab or similar) and CAD (Solidworks, ProE, similar).
  • Knowledge of fabrication and operation of machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, etc.), and 3D printing equipment preferred
  • Previous experience in product design from concept to regulatory marketing approval preferred
  • Knowledge of regulated quality systems such as GMPs, ISO 9001, and the MDD

Salary Range: $90,000 - 96,000/annually
